From the current point of view, the film is very superficial in terms of technology, technique, and depiction of characters, but if it goes back to 1919, I personally feel that it is still a big improvement compared with the silent films of the past. First, this film has seen a lot of traces of the use of montage techniques; second, Griffith boldly reflected many social issues at the time in this film, involving feminism, racism, classism, etc. This is to let Amazing; thirdly, this film has reached the length of a standard feature film. So I still have to give it 5 stars
