The same sadness

In the second half of the movie, I kept crying.

It is clear that the world of the three people is precarious and in danger, but they are hiding in Tibet, not to mention the injury.

Coming to this space where she never existed, embracing the vast blue ocean, meeting passionate people, and walking into the dark labyrinth-like streets.

The father teaches, chats and laughs with the students; the eldest daughter plays the piano and casually finds someone to indulge her youth; the younger daughter draws and pursues her mother along the way. Everyone has their own way of healing, but the effect is not good.

Put her in your heart, recall the moment of farewell, feel guilty and blame yourself, and it is still the same sadness everywhere.

All three were at a loss, and all three were exhausted.

Come on, I love her so much, and my heart is broken in half when she leaves. We are actually just as sad.

However, the remaining part, pretending to be you, must heal slowly.

On that chaotic street, we finally hugged each other, comforted each other, and never left.

My world is slowly recovering, the pain is still there, like a shadow.

But I am also firm, because there are you-

I must move forward.

The light and shadows that are both casual and deliberate are fascinating. The best opening shot. There is a touch of sadness in the broken life, and soft warmth flows in the slow time. That sadness gives hope, that warmth is strength.

A Summer in Genoa quotes

  • Mary: Dad, it says here that Genoa used to be like the richest city in the world.

    Joe: Really?

Mary: Well, yeah, they invented the bank and like all the money came to them.

  • Barbara: Did you know Christopher Columbus was from here?

Mary: I thought he was from Spain.

Barbara: No, he was born here, but he sailed from Spain, so that's why South America is Spanish and not Italian.
