A bon locova

I often hear people say that Italians and Chinese have countless similarities, such as their love of food and the spirit of Ah Q in life. According to legend, Mussolini’s army can give up the key to the North African battlefield because there is not enough pasta. The defense of the position was yelled at by the Germans: an alliance with Italy is better than a battle with ten France. This may be a commonality that always appears in the inheritance of an ancient culture.
Sicily is one of the most legendary places in Italy and Europe. This triangular island has been ruled by various ethnic groups and religions, and has also experienced various independent kingdoms. The culture here is complex and diverse, and the stories here are endless. Tornatore, the director of "Baaria" was born here. He used the unique humor and tolerance of Sicilians to interpret the ordinary and extraordinary life of a Sicilian in the 20th century.
This is a complex movie that cannot be generalized. No one has experienced more vicissitudes than the generation born in the early twentieth century. The Chinese are the same, and the Sicilians are the same. The time of the movie is chaotic, and reality and dreams cannot be separated-just like people in this era, close your eyes, the smoke of the past seems to be yesterday, and who knows that tomorrow will be so peaceful and peaceful? For ordinary Sicilian civilians, who cares about Christianism, communism, or socialism-people don't even want to know whether these are political terms or dance terms-just like the so-called "mediocrity" in China. However, why should they care? No matter what the politics, life will always be the same-no matter what kind of political politicians are concerned, it is only the decency and income of themselves and their families. As for the theory, it is the entertainment of young people before they take office.
However, the director Tornatore's optimism and tolerance made us critical young people really embarrassed. No matter what the ideology, how disgusted by the people, the expression of the film is so subtle and full of humor. The man selling sausages, sitting on the shoulders of two military policemen amidst laughter and cries, left behind his mother's impersonal explanation: go to prison. Mrs. Peppino's miscarriage is nothing but a fading of the dream of broken eggs and the scene of the husband and wife embracing each other. Even Minicu, who did not hesitate to self-mutilate his limbs in order to escape the war, was just a pass. In all kinds of heaviness, the director has always used the main theme to be full of passion and Italian humor. Perhaps the director thinks that everything is fate. Therefore, regardless of good and evil, beautiful and ugly, regardless of happiness, anger, sadness, and happiness, everything seems to be arranged. The hardship will always pass, the sorrow and hatred. It is better to enjoy the present and be grateful-Peppino said to his son: Some people look very good. Good is actually bad; some people look bad, but they are not-it is difficult to distinguish. The fat cripple who looks at the lemon garden is like that, and maybe these so-and-so guys are like that.
And Peppino's "communism" is also telling us that everything is floating clouds, and what else is good and evil, beautiful and ugly? Peppino came from an "indecent" family, engaged in the "communism" he had struggled for all his life, leading the workers' demonstrations, the peasants launching land reforms, participating in revolutionary battles, and even being injured as a result. However, he was a feudal parent who lacked responsibility at home. He slashed social subsidies from neighbors and suppressed the labor movement after he took office... His "communism" seemed to stop at the dumb young man. This Sicilian who is good at playing power, eventually lost the trust of the people and the praise of his colleagues. Even in his later years, he admitted unabashedly that his character was not good-and the compassionate director's expression on this was so simple that he almost carelessly. Peppino is a politician. When politics no longer favors this "orator" and "social activist" who can't even make a speech, life returns to peace again. When they met the former traitor in the clothing store, the two embraced again, seeming to abandon their previous suspicions. Everything is like a cloud, politics is nothing but a blue cloud of borrowing power, but a way to escape from the "indecent" life-"Politics is beautiful" that the old Cicco said before his death probably meant this.
When "sputum took a whole life to dry", this film made in beautiful Italian and Sicilian dialect came to an end. When you are convinced of certain things, the fly got out of the top.
A bon locova, a difficult past.

The style is repeated, but this is the director's hometown song, looking for his heart in the returning shots.
