Dali and his lover, Mote, Lorca in Dali’s eyes

Many people think that the Chinese translation of this film does not hit the point, or that the protagonist is Lorca, which is actually quite wrong.

For most of the time involved in this movie, Dali hasn't even painted the "Premonition of Civil War", and the eternity of memory has not even been captured in one scene. What kind of Dali does this film present?
Not to mention Bunuel, who is still far away from the brothel.

At the beginning of the movie, Lorca’s letter was quoted to convince everyone that Lorca was really obsessed with Dali, and then he immediately picked up Lorca’s poems, and where he was dying, making us think Lorca was dead. All still love Dali.

But is that the case?

The end of the film tells us that Dali never told this story to anyone in his life, and only three years before his death told "Lorka's Biographer", Ian Gibson of Ireland, that is to say, this movie is very big. The ingredients are based on Dali’s self-exposure in his later years, which is why there is that weird sex.

It’s only when I watch the movie that I realize that this movie didn’t try to shape anyone’s life. It’s a reminiscence of an old writer who is unclear and can’t see clearly with his young lovers, so the movie will be full. They are all beautiful images of Lorca. Dali himself rarely has a voice. If there is, all of them are related to Lorca! So we can’t see the relationship between Dali and Gala, and even the Andalusian dog is shown in the movie, and we don’t have any clues about the relationship between Dali and Bunuel!

Not only that, we don't know that Lorca also left his beloved hometown to New York, or met the Nobel Prize winner Neruda in Chile, which was a close friend.

Because Dali knew nothing about the side that Lorca showed in New York, let alone the spark that bloomed between him and Neruda.

Therefore, this film does not fully present anyone, even Lorca, who can trace clues in all scenes--because all the scenes in this film exist for Dali himself to build in his heart, and it was his lover back then. Lorca.

So when you watch this movie, how much do you like Lorca's style, or feel a pity for him to die in vain at a young age... Then it represents how much Arlo Dali was dying in his later years. Erka, how clear his memory is, how sorry about this love.
