Of course there are no tears. After watching the film, I only left my contempt for my sister and many doubts about the film.
The answer to my question was an interview with the author of the original novel. The author is a Dutch, who has lived in the shadows of World War II and the terrifying imagination of the Germans since he was a child (just like the Chinese VS the Japanese). However, when she had the opportunity to contact the Germans as an adult, she discovered that the Germans were undoubtedly demonized. Extremist German Nazis certainly exist, but more Germans are brainwashed and fooled. Although the Dutch claimed that there would never be fascists like the German Nazis among them, in fact, not only the Dutch, it can be said that anyone in the German society at that time could be deceived, brainwashed or even become a Nazi. Therefore, twin sisters were born in the author's mind. It can be said that they are different possibilities of the same person. At this point, I also understand why my sister became so cold and unreasonable, because she is not a living person at all! She was created by the author with a clear concept and purpose. There are too many things on her body. She is not only a victim of a life tragedy who was forced to separate from flesh and blood, but also a victim of war. At the same time, she represents a Dutch with a conscience and sense of justice. When the elderly sister keeps accusing her elderly sister, do you feel that she is accusing Germany on behalf of the Netherlands?
Perhaps, my current understanding is still a misunderstanding.
