Edge of 21

Not to say how moving this story is. For example, milk and Prayers for Bobby just made me cry. But this one makes me feel a kind of truth. It was like waking up with the sun in the morning, the fuzzy self in the floor-to-ceiling mirror opposite.
Eric's self-awareness may be too fast for some people. I think the reason why it feels too fast is because we are thinking with the thinking of Chinese people under the national conditions. Eric was questioned in the straight man bar; queer someting? Then he went straight to gaybar. He smiled with a crying makeup. This sense of identification should be what every gay dreams of. He asked Maggie to go to the gaybar with him and wanted her to accept that kind of self. Although he failed, even though he tried to hide some parts of himself and had sex with her. But when he woke up early in the morning, tears would still slip from the corners of his eyes. All he could do was shake his head silently in the faint sunlight.
I suddenly remembered that a foreigner asked me if I could live with him quietly. I refused: "If you don't love the way you are, how can you love me." I like the look of Eric back to the gaybar. Although he wears glamorously, he has no makeup. He should have smelled a trace of belonging in the confusion at the age of 17.
We are such a group of people, just hope that others can smile at us on the street, not as a kind of freak. We like the violent feeling of chewing music, and we like to stick to the backs of strangers in the psychedelic lights. We all need a period of time to find a balance between reality and self, even with lots of friends. Eric is lucky after all. When he completes his transformation, at least this family will welcome him. And in China, everyone is basically worried about love and filial piety.
His story started at the age of 17, and mine ended at the age of 21.

ps. Click on this movie without subtitles nervously. I found that even after listening to German for so long, I can still keep up with the protagonist's emotional fluctuations. Maybe it's because this kind of storyline happened to me, so I'm very familiar and very real.
(I wrote a film review for the first time, but I did not expect to give such an old film)
