Awkward awkward

This is one of the weirdest movies I have watched this year, but it is quite attractive!

The plot is actually very simple, it's nothing more than a penal debt that a rock girl is pregnant with her literary boyfriend and pretends to force her father. The literary youth Paul and his father Jeff are in the same group. Paul regards his father as an idol, and uses the secret room as a private space and spiritual sustenance for him and his father. Even his rock girlfriend can't violate it. Paul also has an Oedipus, his weak brother Andrew, who is in the same group as his devout mother. . . When the JP father XX Paul’s rock girlfriend was witnessed by Paul and his followers, Paul’s idol collapsed and his spiritual sustenance was gone. He also witnessed the scene of his mother committing suicide due to unbearable incest, escaping from the family and avoiding huge Pain and pressure. And all this was left to the cowardly brother Andrew. Andrew felt wronged and resentful. He hated his brother for abandoning him, hated his father and beasts, and complained about his mother's death. This was the beginning of all conflicts.

Celia, the illegitimate daughter of her father and rock girl, is a fat girl who is also a fanatic when she grows up. Both the schoolboy and her fat nephew (Andrew's son) favor her. I really don't understand, how can such a fat and ugly girl be liked by so many people. . . .

The days of peace were broken because of the death of JP’s father and the will left behind. It is said that this JP father is really restless, and he will leave a will when he died. The three-thirds of the property above is clearly to be illegitimate. The female affairs are singled out for fear that the world will not be chaotic.

After dividing the inheritance, Wenqing Paul will naturally come back. After entangled with various characters, the truth became clear. His own sister was killed by a neurotic sister-in-law. .

From the above, it is actually the story of JP, the director is so awkward. I think the inside montage is used too frequently, it's messy, three lines, one point to the east, one point to the west, it's not necessary. At the end, I couldn’t figure out how the little girl discovered her true identity, and she couldn’t understand. Why should she say that she must be JP’s father’s species? I think they are within a few days. The overall structure is not very good, and the theme is not too deep. The actors' performances are even more general. Celia's acting skills are fairly natural, but they are too fat. . . .

The biggest gain is that the Australian accent is equivalent to the country accent. You should pay attention to studying in Australia. Don't make a mouthful of country English, which is looked down upon by Americans and British people.

In My Father's Den quotes

  • Andrew: All this time I wondered why you upped and left. You knew what he was up to didn't you... You know the really sad part - I didn't even find out until I read the will... You killed me when you walked away and left me with that evil piece of scum. You had the gall to come back here and bring that thing into our house, my mother's house... Like father, like son.

  • [Paul is very drunk]

Paul Prior: Hey, I've got a joke. What sexual position produces the ugliest children?

    Andrew: I don't know.

    Paul Prior: Ask your mother!
