Most of the film reviews I have watched focused on the priest's own struggle and confusion, but ignored another very important branch-the story of the little girl who was sexually assaulted by his father. What should be done when the doctrine to be followed is opposed to the conscience? What has to be done? What must be done? The priest's struggle with these issues is a metaphor for his own incompatible choices and tendencies between comradeship and doctrine.
He finally followed the id and chose to have no shame in my heart. As a result, in the "disturbance from relatives", in the eyes of everyone's contempt, doubt, alienation, and malice, he hugged and wept with the only little girl who walked into the blessing. The ending is just right, it's definitely a stroke of magic. When there is a conflict between oneself and the outside world, the happy ending will only appear in the Hollywood studio. The absolute opposition in the short term, the external pressure can not be settled by defeating oneself. But courage is the first step. If I can stand up, I applaud. If I can’t, I can only say one thing: after all, it’s just a mortal.
