I have no shame in my heart

This is a story about salvation, self-salvation and salvation.

Most of the film reviews I have watched focused on the priest's own struggle and confusion, but ignored another very important branch-the story of the little girl who was sexually assaulted by his father. What should be done when the doctrine to be followed is opposed to the conscience? What has to be done? What must be done? The priest's struggle with these issues is a metaphor for his own incompatible choices and tendencies between comradeship and doctrine.

He finally followed the id and chose to have no shame in my heart. As a result, in the "disturbance from relatives", in the eyes of everyone's contempt, doubt, alienation, and malice, he hugged and wept with the only little girl who walked into the blessing. The ending is just right, it's definitely a stroke of magic. When there is a conflict between oneself and the outside world, the happy ending will only appear in the Hollywood studio. The absolute opposition in the short term, the external pressure can not be settled by defeating oneself. But courage is the first step. If I can stand up, I applaud. If I can’t, I can only say one thing: after all, it’s just a mortal.

The contradiction between religious belief and self-identity, following the rules or starting from the heart, the film only discusses the contradiction of comradeship rather than love, so that young man is like a tool man, a tool man used by priests to swear self-release (Carlisle Short hair is also possible, but this one is really a tool)

Whoever has no sin can take up the stone first. Homosexuality and incest are not sins if you like; but you have to admit their guilt, and the greatest sin comes from unforgiveness

Priest quotes

  • Father Greg Pilkington: When we were in seminary, it was a sort of standard question: a man tells you in confession that he's poisoned the altar wine. Do you still go out and say Mass? Now, I had no problem with that: I'd go out and say Mass, drink the wine. There's a bit of the martyr in all of us.

  • Father Greg Pilkington: And how would you feel if someone robbed your car?

Boy Car Thief: I haven't got one.

Father Greg Pilkington: Well, suppose you did.

    Boy Car Thief: I'd get a weed-on.

Father Greg Pilkington: Exactly. I'd get a... weed-on too.

Boy Car Thief: You haven't got a car.

Father Greg Pilkington: Well, what about Father Matthew?

Boy Car Thief: No one would wanna rob his car, would they?

Father Greg Pilkington: Because he's a priest?

Boy Car Thief: Because it's crap!
