"Sakura Blossoms": Love Sakura Township

From the Japanese films "Encouragement", "The Taste of Tea", "Non-Stop Walking", to the Hollywood film "Bucket List", to this German film "Cherry Blossoms" full of Japanese cultural elements, I haven't really watched it recently. There are few family-themed movies, and there are no shortage of masterpieces on serious topics such as life, death, and the value of life.

For meticulous taste, the style is delicate and plain, and the film about ordinary people's life is the most appetizing. The rapid hurricanes on the racing track, the afterglow of the sunset on the African savannah, and the thrilling skydiving are not as close to the hearts of ordinary people as the trivial life of ordinary people. When facing death, different people have different attitudes. "Why do you want to make a special change? How is it now? I go to work in the morning and go home in the evening. I'm just like this..." When talking about how to spend the last time in life, Rudy ("Sakura Sheng "Play" the male protagonist) said so.

I haven't seen Ozu's work. As for how the German female director Doris Dorrie transplanted part of the plot of "Tokyo Story" into this film, I don't know. The movie "Cherry Blossoms" starts in the beautiful town of Allgau in southern Germany, and travels to Berlin, the Baltic Sea, and then to the distant country of cherry blossoms-Japan. The originally planned trip of the two old people to visit relatives has become the last journey in their lives.

In order to fulfill his wife's last wish, Rudy walked on the bustling streets of Tokyo, stopped under the cherry trees, turned himself into the eyes of his wife, and did not want to miss a scene. But whether it's cooking the food that his wife often cooks or putting on his wife's clothes, the superficial sensory stimulation will not be able to sense Du Li's existence. "Du Li, where are you?" Even though he knew his wife was no longer alive, the old man still yearned to meet his wife even in a certain illusory space. It wasn’t until I encountered a girl performing Wuta in the park that Rudy finally found his wife in the world of Wuta. The one I loved never left like a shadow...

Regarding this movie, I have to mention a term-Wuta. When you first appreciate the dance step, you will feel that this kind of dance has no sense of beauty, or even a little ugly. The dancer smears the corpse face, the facial expression is painful, the body is distorted, and the movement is stiff. It is not so much a dance as a performance art. Especially in the first half of the film, after seeing the male Japanese dance step artist's performance, whether it is a performer or a viewer, the strongest feeling is pain. However, with the appearance of dancers in the second half of the film, it brings a pleasant and warm feeling. When performing the dance step, the girl wore a light pink kimono like cherry blossoms, always keeping a slight smile. There is no pain, and the face is full of joy and satisfaction.

In addition, I really like the background music of the girls performing dance steps in the film. I did not expect that Ryuichi Sakamoto, who is good at electronic music, can perform traditional style music so well. The shamisen and harmony are full of charm. I always felt that Japanese traditional music sounded a little scary, but I didn’t want it this time but it was very useful.

If you describe the film as two colors, I think it should be blue and pink, just like the poster of this film, the contrasting colors of warm and cold. The blue Baltic Sea is beautiful and far-reaching, but it is slightly cold. The pink cherry blossoms are warm and romantic. In the film, the girlish pink caps and the pink decorations on canvas shoes are symbolically similar to the color of cherry blossoms. Compared with the full-blooming cherry blossoms, the touch of pink dotted in the picture is brighter.

In addition to the love between the two elderly people, family relationships are also a subject worth pondering in this film. The feelings between the independent children and their parents seem to be gradually indifferent at the same time. In the film, the children were caught off guard by the sudden visit of the two elderly people. Although they did not directly express their complaints, the two elderly people can already feel that they are not welcome. "I don't know them, and they don't know me anymore", which reflects the feelings of loss and helplessness of the two old people. It is undeniable that the children's love for their parents should not change, but the original family relationship has actually collapsed as they set up new families. Therefore, the position of parents in the new family relationship has changed. In the film, the children always get together, there are always uninvited guests ---flies appear, and the conversation about them is just as unattractive as the flies, but when they arrive in Japan, there is no trace of the flies, which may be a kind of irony. Bar. The most intimate and sincere feelings should be no more than family affection, and the feelings between Rudy and the young girl seem to have surpassed this kind of feeling. This is also the thinking that this film brings us... (Text/Berunika)

Glossary explanation: Wuta-"Wuta is
like a corpse standing
tall and fiddling with life." (Tufang Xun, founder of the dance show) Butoh originated in Japan. After the defeat in the 1960s, Japan was still in a downturn. Affected by the social atmosphere at the time, the dance industry reversed its previous belief in pursuit of Westernization and regarded Western dance as its standard. It honestly realized that the Japanese were born with short stature and were unable to do so. To express the slender lines pursued by ballet; blindly following the dance aesthetics of others is like squeezing into unfit shoes, the body and soul cannot be free. Starting from this introspection, Earthwork Sunda uses a small theater as a base to slowly find a way to twist and deform the limbs to achieve a primitive and natural performance: the dancers apply white powder all over the body, bow their waists and fold their legs, creep slowly, or cover the floor. Rolling and twisting the face seemed extremely painful. This emerging dance style with strong physical performance has since been called dance stepping. (From Baidu)

Trudi Angermeier: 'Stop! What you're doing is murder!'

Klaus Angermeier: 'Such cruelty is not a must... '

Trudi Angermeier: 'The Mayfly has but one short day... '

Karolin Angermeier: 'One single day of pain, one single day of lust... '

Rudi Angermeier: 'Oh, let it hover there, until it meets it's end. It's heavens last forever. It's life one day to make amends.' Right, mama?
