The story takes place on a certain street on the eve of the Soviet army's complete occupation of Berlin. In order to avoid artillery fire, most civilians can only hide in the basement. The civilians mentioned here are actually old, young, women and children. Most of them are women. Even if there are men who are either young or old, all men of the age suitable for war are going to serve as soldiers. The Soviet soldiers finally occupied this street. Faced with the unarmed and overly frightened women, the animal instincts of the Soviet soldiers, which had been suppressed by the war for a long time, were inspired. As long as it is a woman, young or old, the lust of Soviet soldiers willfully. Rape is happening here all the time. The Soviet officers did not say that they were plundering, at least they were blind to what was happening before them. This is not to say how corrupt the military discipline of this group of victors is, because the Germans did the same on Soviet soil, and they have been in the past, and everything now is just revenge. In fact, what is chilling is not the behavior of the Soviets, but the indifference of the natives. The Germans were mostly indifferent when they saw their women being raped. What's more, for their own safety, they pushed women out of a hidden place and exposed them to wolf-like soldiers in exchange for a moment of peace and lingering life. Men.
After experiencing the pain of being raped, the heroine-Anonyma decided to find a backer to help herself through the difficulties. Finally, Major Andrei, the highest commander of the Soviet army in the area, walked into her life, and the women could finally live a safe life in their rooms. The major also brought food so that these old and young girls could satisfy their appetites when they talked about the Soviet soldiers next to them and on the bed. Soon the house where Anonyma lived became a meeting place for Soviet officers, where people drank, sang, danced, and enjoyed the joy of conquering Berlin. However, the good times did not last long. German soldiers were found hiding in this house. The major did not kill all the people in the house according to the order at the time and was taken away by the military police. Anonyma's backing was gone, and she had to return to her original life, carrying buckets among the Soviet soldiers in line.
The story is true. Due to the ugliness that exposed too much human nature, the film is quite controversial, and many people don't like it, because the plot is neither romantic nor the protagonist is not beautiful, only the description of reality. And I like this film very much because of its truthfulness. It truly shows the suffering caused by war to ordinary people, whether it is the aggressor or the aggressor, the victor or the defeated. It's not just blood and killing, but the display and amplification of the shortcomings of human nature. Only war can strip people of their hypocrisy and show others a selfish, insignificant, and greedy heart. I think this is what the film really wants to show.
The scenes of the film should be realistic. Basically, it was shot in a pile of rubble, dusty everywhere; the sound reproduction is also good; the language is German and Russian interactively. Today, when English films are flying all over the sky, it is very rare to do this. Although the actors do not have long lines, their expressions and actions are enough to express the painful inner world.
I highly recommend this film, of course, if you are not interested in history and humanity topics, don’t watch it!
