Rare my cup of tea

The director Eytan Fox is actually a newyorker. He went to Israel with his family when he was two years old. No wonder his films are like mixed juices, and they can be tasted in any flavor. It's a pity that it's too low to produce. It feels like filming is like a sideline, but I like it all I've seen so far, because he knows how to be sensational. I am very old and very sensitive to tears.
Recently, I only watched gay movies. Although this one is not counted, he entered the list of my favorite movies. The last one was "Delicious Relationship", which I watched 4 years ago. It’s not that I have a high-sightedness. I think there are many excellent movies, but they can’t reach the favorite level. I don’t know what kind of chemical reaction there is. My favorite thing is to take a look when I’m bored. It’s like taking oxygen. .
A few experiences.
As an Israeli director, I probably mentioned Palestine-Israel issues in everything. In Israel, suicide attacks are staged every day like news broadcasts. Everyone is used to it. eyal is regarded as the unsung hero at the forefront of the Hamas resistance movement. He can also use bomb attacks to make a joke. This protracted confrontation is already deep. Deeply immersed in the two nations, this is something we outsiders will never be able to appreciate. The unexpected modernization of Jerusalem was previously known as a religious holy place, and I thought it was an Islamic city full of temples and pilgrims. The most impressive is the bus, which is shamelessly smooth.
The Wailing Wall was mentioned in the movie. I checked it on the Internet. If you don’t know, let’s take a look:

The Temple Mount is the most important holy place for Jews. Solomon, the son of King David of the Jews in the 1st millennium BC, took 7 years and spent 200,000 people on a hill in Jerusalem, which later became the famous Temple Mountain (also known as the Holy Temple). A magnificent temple was built on the Temple Mount as a place to worship the Jewish god Lord Jehovah. This is the famous first temple in Jerusalem. In 586 BC, the Babylonian army captured Jerusalem and the first temple was destroyed. Later, the Jews rebuilt the temple twice, but it was destroyed twice during the Roman occupation. The famous Basilica protecting the Most Holy Place was rebuilt on the ruins of the First Temple built by Herod I the Great in 37 BC on Solomon. Herod’s Temple was destroyed by the Roman Titus Legion in AD 70. After that, Jews built a 52-meter-long and 19-meter-high wall on the ruins of the original Jewish temple with stones from the original temple. "West Wall". The Jews called it the "Wailing Wall" and became the most important worship object of Judaism today.

The Jews believe that the Wailing Wall is the only remnant left in the temple, and therefore the most sacred place of prayer in Judaism. For many centuries, Jews have come here to face the wall and pray. Whenever they recall the destruction of the temple in history, they can’t help crying, and the Wailing Wall is named after it. The Israelis vowed not to abandon the "wailing wall".

The Wailing Wall looked like a huge stone wall. Every day, Jews can be seen automatically divided into male and female groups, praying at the north and south sections of the Wailing Wall. They often hold the "Bible" and nod their heads while praying. Some people even moved their chairs to face the Wailing Wall and spent the whole day immersed in a dialogue with God; as for the world-famous act of stuffing a note with wishes into the cracks of the Wailing Wall, it is not Jewish. Customs are the inventions of tourists.

In 1967, the dilapidated block where the "wailing wall" was located was demolished and turned into a wide paved square. Devout Jews eagerly hope to rebuild this temple, but that is impossible, because it will mean the dismantling of the Muslim sanctuary that was later built on the site. There is also a synagogue and a rabbi school near the foundation of the temple.

The Wailing Wall was included in the "World Heritage List" in 1981.

Walk on Water quotes

  • Axel Himmelman: [tries to walk on the sea and falls in]

Eyal: [sarcastically] Bravo. You did it.

Axel Himmelman: You don't understand. You can't just come to the Sea of Galilee and start walking on water. If you could, everybody would be doing it. You need to prepare yourself.

Eyal: And how would you do that? Please enlighten me.

Axel Himmelman: Well, you need to completely purify yourself. Your heart needs to be like it's clean from the inside: no negativity, no bad thoughts.

    Eyal: And then?

Axel Himmelman: And then you can walk on water. I'm sure of it.
