remember that I first saw the introduction of this movie in Guo Xiaolu’s "Movie Map". I have forgotten how the movie was evaluated in the book at the time, but its name has always been At the top of my movie purchase list.
Later, I ran into it at No. 54 on Matai Street. The only three of them were bought by me, Yuball and my old sister.
Today is the fourth time to watch this movie. This narrative and poetic road movie.
Some people say that this is a movie about wandering. Wandering is a word that contains undirected loneliness. I don't refute it, but I think this is a movie about exploration.
I still like the slow-moving long lens, the rolling clouds in the wide-angle lens, and the deep cello.
The advantage of long shots for montage is that they can express urgency with a calm attitude and add a sense of depth.
The end of the long road is an unpredictable adventure, two small figures, a small persistence, and a small hope.
At the end, I think An Zhe is heartbroken. That gunshot, that black screen. When the mist spreads, it is a big tree that can provide shade. It's the same as the blurry image on that film.
There is a line in "The Age of Independence": What people say is the word "love". An Zhe just pierced a love into our hearts.
