The movie "Chasing the Mist" was released quietly. This is a suspenseful film.
In recent years, many suspenseful crime films in Europe have been introduced, and most of them have high ratings. Perhaps taking advantage of such a limelight, this "Mist Chase" was introduced.
This is an Italian movie. From last year to this year, several Italian movies were released. One feature of this movie is that the director is the author of the original novel.
This is a suspense film. It is really hard to construct a mystery atmosphere and consciously lead the audience astray. First of all, the strong conservative religious atmosphere of the small town can easily mislead the view into religious mysticism; then, the contest between the inspector and the teacher brings the audience to another place. The truth came out until the end.
Although this is a crime film about solving crimes, it also reflects and satirizes the phenomenon that public opinion is used to deal with pressure on suspects or the police in the process of investigating cases in the current society. In some ways, it is an ethical film.
There are different opinions on whether the final murderer is a psychologist or a teacher. I tend to be a psychologist. However, if this is the case, the explanations in the film are a bit too abrupt, and there is no definite foreshadowing. If the teacher is a criminal, why would the detective destroy the video tape? Maybe the film is to leave a little room for the audience to think for themselves.
Overall, this film is not bad, with a score of 7.5.
