I am not majoring in agriculture, so I just want to talk about my views.
The output of this kind of farm cannot be high, and the products are certainly much more expensive than ordinary agricultural products, but they also have value. Just imagine that ordinary modern agriculture has a single type of planting, which is not beneficial to the ecology; while ordinary wilderness and wetlands have no economic benefits. Ecological farm is equivalent to a compromise between the two, which has both economic and ecological benefits. But the shortcomings are also obvious. Thousands of acres of wheat fields may be farmed by only a few people relying on modern big machinery. Ordinary ecological protection land does not require too much human intervention. A successful ecological farm requires far more than the aforementioned two. Manpower maintenance.
But from an economic point of view, as long as they can make a profit, it is ridiculous to question their value. You think their idealistic brilliance is too dazzling, people still think they are just businessmen. There are so many modern big farms on the verge of bankruptcy. Who will examine them? Ecological farms are actually making money for the rich. They can make profits and maintain ecological balance. They have been very successful. It is unrealistic to require this model to feed 7 billion people. But in other words, are there too many humans? If there are only 2 or 3 billion humans, this model may be more mainstream.
Innovation is to take a road that no one has gone before, and to create a road that doesn't exist. The eco-farm was extremely difficult when it started, but as more and more people join, perhaps this road will become better and better.
