A little touch

Dylan is always so distant and mysterious. I forgot who said he didn't answer direct questions before. Rubin later said that when Dylan came to visit him in prison, he was the only person who didn't ask direct questions. The speech is also always mystical. I like the sentence he said at the end, when the interviewer asked him what rolling thunder left for today: nothing. ashes, probably.

The conversation between Joan Baez and Dylan at the bar was too heartbreaking. -I thought I found someone I love.-thought comes in there. It's not about the head, it's about the heart. The resonance between her and Dylan's voice is so good, except for this film there are some other footages, both like very much. She really likes Dylan too, saying that every time she sees him, she can understand everything, and chrisma who listens to him will fall for him. She said that she was pretending to be Dylan, and then people around her would treat her as Dylan.

Ginsberg is such a humble amiable presence, which is completely unexpected when reading his poems.

Joni Mitchell’s appearance was also really unexpected, and I asked if I was a songwriter at the same level as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. Maybe because of the unique guitar tuning, her songs always have a style that is easy to identify.

The violin is great, it adds a lot to the tune. The violinist's dress and makeup are also very cool.

It is great that Scorsese can cut these scattered materials into such a good story. Especially in Hurricane, Rubin and the other person can read the whole lyrics in the middle, and then cut back to the scene, which is really subtle. Knocking later cut into Ginsberg's words in the same way.

This group of people are really cool. Can only say wish i were there, nothing else.

Rolling Thunder Revue quotes

  • Interviewer: What were the audiences like that you played to?

The Balladeer: Well, they would all be hysterically happy. So, I mean, you can't really judge much from saying "What would the audiences be like?" They would all be people who would've slit each other's throats to get there.
