"Norman", a lifetime achievement

Norman, played by Richard Gere, is an old and less successful broker who wanders outside of New York's money power circle and relies on cheeky and perseverance. The position printed on his business card is a "strategist", and the business that he does sounds good is the integration of resources, which is essentially a matchmaking, the so-called "fixer". Before getting to know the Deputy Prime Minister of Israel, he was a desperate little person who had nothing to pay attention to. He made inadvertent goodwill. After the Deputy Prime Minister became Prime Minister, his career seemed to have reached unprecedented heights, but in the end it was nothing. The film’s narrative method is divided into narratives. The first act is quite boring, showing us Norman’s rather boring and contemptuous approach to chatting, stalking, stalking, and holding lies. His tricks are actually not mysterious. The routine is to try his best to meet with high-ranking officials, and then talk about self-promotion. Generally, he will say that he recognizes another person, even though he only knows the name and some interesting anecdotes. His mouth is a very close personal relationship. Then seemingly inadvertently mentioned that he was going to the dinner party, "I can introduce you to you". Use A's resources to catch up with B, and then use B's resources to help solve C's problems and earn commissions. These methods are really not on the stage, except for stalking and lie. Maybe people outside the play are bored and contemptuous of Norman. Regarding the exchanges with the Deputy Prime Minister of Israel, he called it an investment, but unexpectedly, his investment finally fell on the right treasure. The turning point in the second act is dreamy. Norman's career reached its peak. Because of his friendship with the Israeli Prime Minister, his social circle has reached an unprecedentedly broad level. It was like a wonderful dream. This dream made him immersed in a beautiful fantasy. He sat in the car with a dreamy smile, recalling the details of everyone rushing to get to know him. He was so overwhelmed that he gave up the surprise and professionalism that he should have as a "strategist" in the political circle. He explained the process of his acquaintance with the prime minister and explained it to an Israeli judge, and buried it for the tragedy that followed.了leads. The beauty of the beginning of this scene did not change Norman’s fate afterwards. He continued his fudge career, calling the secretary of the prime minister over and over again to get an errand, using his meager and even wishful thinking friendship with the prime minister to fight. Into the circle of big guys. He seems to be very busy. The Prime Minister wants him to help solve his son’s attendance at Harvard. The rabbi needs him to help with donations to the church. His nephew wants to marry a non-Jewish. The entrepreneur needs him to set up a project with the Israeli government. Before waking up , He lives just like before. The story begins in the third act Meaning. This story is not particularly easy to understand because most of the story is told through dialogue between characters, and more often by telephone. This mode was very annoying in the first half of the film, but began to change in the second half. It is no longer a scene where Norman talks to others everywhere, walking around in a beige coat, but more focused on the face and even the eyes of the character, with the conversation of others in the background, which instead has a power to concentrate you. If you listen to those conversations quietly, and then observe Norman's expression and eyes for a long time, you can understand how these words are killing Norman. Norman's suicide was not loyalty or spine, or despair after consciously asking the Prime Minister's hypocritical friendship, but his professional consciousness as a "fixer". As a "strategist," he actually didn't accomplish anything, and the position of the prime minister of Israel, the so-called best investor, has nothing to do with him. As a failed broker, what did you accomplish? The last scene of the film is very exciting and has a lot of meaning. Norman sat on the chair and took out a peanut. The montage should show the scene after his death: the Prime Minister’s crisis was lifted, entrepreneurs benefited from investment, the church received anonymous donations, the wedding of nephews and Asians, and the prime minister’s son David reported at Harvard... Norman survived the whole game. Chess finally achieved the achievement of his career. This scene looks sad and inspiring. The sadness is that everyone gets what they want, and no one will remember Norman. Norman does not seem to need others to remember for motivation. The sense of accomplishment lies in his pride that he helped others fix it. problem. Think he was asking all day, "What do you need? What can I help you?" Richard Gere really can act, and Norman, a good asshole who is both sad and pitiful, is played too much by him. The supporting roles are very good, many good actors. The soundtrack of the film is very good, it does not snatch the scene and cooperates well, and the atmosphere is very appropriate. I really like the shooting method at the end of the film. When the characters are talking, the screen is fixed on Norman's face, which is more like Norman recollecting those conversations, and his heart is ups and downs. In fact, when we look down on Norman, how many of us are doing this kind of thing more or less, and one day seems to unintentionally raise our social class by talking to people about anecdotes of a well-known person. We did this because of vanity, and for Norman, it was work.
