War + science fiction + haunted mixed genre film. There must be sci-fi and ghosts (unless a programmer maliciously tampered with a computer program).
1. Stroke the plot first: A five-member U.S. military squad was on a mission to evacuate the hostages in Afghanistan. I never expected ISIS to arrive at the hostage’s home first. Five people and an intelligence officer hid in the mezzanine to sit and watch a family killed and then rushed out of Afghanistan. The mother was caught off guard by the suicide attack, and the Afghan mother cast a big curse before her death, that is, the mysterious vocabulary "Vetrulek" that appears repeatedly in the film.
Five people were sent to the science fiction laboratory for physical and psychological rehabilitation (mainly psychological). The doctor set the computer simulation background to World War II and thought it would help them better.
2. When did the ghost intervene and in what way?
Through the words of Doctor Bald, we can know that this system itself is benign, and it will not make a "loop simulation" to make the team fall into a dead end in the dream. The reality is that the five-man team fell into the second world war in the dream. Dead end, walked circle after circle, and finally returned to the haunted castle.
So from the time the team was sent to the laboratory, ghosts followed and interfered with the computer system.
It is speculated that if there are no ghosts, the team’s dream when this system works is as follows:
On the battlefield of World War II, the team bombed Nazi jeeps one after another, helped refugees, and then handed over their garrison at the castle, and talked by everyone (including snipers recalling the crimes committed in the past). These were systematically established procedures to promote the psychological recovery of the five people. At the same time reduce the impact on the real world.
Then there lived a happy French noble family of four in the castle. The team was stationed here and received the warm hospitality of the French family — [corresponding to the Afghan family]
Suddenly one day, they received a telegram saying that a group of dozens of German troops was about to arrive here — [corresponding to ISIS troops]
At this time, five people were hiding somewhere in the castle (maybe the attic, maybe the hut in the corner of the manor), sitting and watching a family of four being interrogated and tortured by the Nazis — [corresponding team hiding behind the wall to watch the Afghan family being killed]
Of course, the team in the dream world can make different choices, such as fighting the Nazis. In fact, they did just that. (The sniper proposed to evacuate the castle, and the captain insisted on garrisoning, but he could not tell the reason for doing so)
If there are no ghosts, this system can reproduce the situation at the time, and the team can face another choice-come forward or die. Imagine that people fight to death with the Nazis in their dreams to protect the French aristocratic family. Even if they wake up from the dream and return to reality, they may feel less guilty when they think of things in Afghanistan.
But BUT!
The ghost came, and the computer system did not develop benign, but evolved into a [haunted castle + infinite loop]. After experiencing a series of things and learning the story of a family through their diaries, everyone thought that burying them would send away the ghosts. As everyone knows, this deepens the power of the ghost, allowing it to make waves in the real world.
In the end, the captain asked the female doctor to send them back to the battlefield in Afghanistan to re-face the original decision and want to make up for it.
But when he woke up, he was still in the woods of World War II, with a cigar smoking man sitting across from him.
"What do you want?"
If a family of four wants, it may be that the five of them will never escape in their dreams, in order to punish them for insensitivity and desperation.
The ending is left blank, but I speculate that the remaining four people in the team should never be able to wake up from the dream. At this time, the power of the ghost is enough to affect reality and use the computer system to trap them in the dream forever. Their bodies in the laboratory have actually become "vegetative".
