"Mom Wants Me to Love a Man" (also translated as "Boys and Guillaume" in 2013), directed and starred by Guilom Gallini, is a typical French nonsensical comedy adapted from a stage play. France is very good at this set, not only making fun of others, but also good at self-deprecating. It’s just that I’m a bit uncomfortable playing this time, because it’s about gender identity and personal well-being.
Zeon was raised as a girl by his mother and family since he was a child. Zeon himself was quite proud. He always imitated his mother's words and deeds intentionally or unintentionally, and his family couldn't tell who was who from the voice alone.
After getting older, at the boys' school, Zeon was blinded and run on, and the life of pretending to be a girl was not easy. People will be stunned wherever they go. But her mother would not let Zeon worry about it, she always encouraged him to take the initiative to make friends with boys. To put it bluntly, it is to let him talk about love with boys. But he dare not. Psychological counseling for medical treatment is just to remove a little dirt in the end.
It wasn't until one day that he met Ai Yingting, a beautiful girl, that he suddenly realized that I love women. He confessed to his mother that he wanted to write such a stage play, but was not seen by his mother, so he had to act. On the stage, he affectionately interprets his true identity. This allowed her mother to wake up from her stubborn dream.
Finally, my mother left a greeting card "Mom wishes you and Ai Yingting's love".
In life, there is no shortage of such assumptions and misunderstandings. Most of the mothers are not born with them, and most of them are misled by the acquired parents. In addition to providing jokes, the film undoubtedly reminds people: Knowing who you are is far more important than others think.
