"I have two children, one is a boy, and the other... is also a boy."
These dialogues have probably become classics in the minds of many people. Every time I think of it, I can't help but laugh. The two main feelings that "Story of the Office" gave me are: It turns out that the Soviets are so humorous; it turns out that comedy can also have such rich connotations, which makes people laugh and have endless aftertastes.
The same works by Ryazanov, "The Story of the Office" and "The Station of Two People" are quite similar: they both talk about the love of ordinary middle-aged people; there is a certain gap between the identities of the male and female protagonists; Communication starts with contradictions, embarrassments, and all kinds of unpleasantness, and gradually walks into each other's hearts and discovers the beauty of each other's hearts. But I like "The Story of the Office" better, it brings me more laughter and thinking.
The serious and old-fashioned female chief and the dull and restrained male staff, from the cold subordinate relationship to the mutual openness, from temptation, dodge to falling in love, step by step are so funny and exciting. However, when their feelings were rapidly heating up, the provocation of the deputy director caused them to misunderstand. Seeing that there are only one or two minutes left in the film, and the two are still chasing after each other, I can't help but worry about where their relationship will go. Until the last shot, he melted her heart with a long, affectionate kiss in the taxi, and I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
This film is an anthem to beautiful humanity and warm emotions. When the female chief who was called a "cold-blooded animal" by her subordinates finally realized that she was a woman, she became so elegant, charming, kind and funny; the once-only and ambivalent male staff were also fully driven by love. He showed kindness, tenderness and bravery. People are so wonderful. Some people reveal their own nature in their interpersonal interactions, but some people show only the tip of the iceberg. Their vast and beautiful inner world needs to be discovered by people who understand them. People with a cold appearance may have a softer heart than others. They are just waiting for the opportunity to confide in their hearts, waiting for those who are willing to listen to them. Some seemingly enthusiastic and generous people are cold and hypocritical on the inside, just like the deputy director in the film, so cruelly hurt the lover in college and the female colleague now.
In addition to telling the love story of the hero and heroine, the film also depicts a picture of life in an agency office: the women who came to the unit first to make up and dress up, the secretary who loves to talk on the phone, a serious trade union cadre, and the decent deputy director, which spread quickly. The gossip of the people, the people who make up every three parts...maybe only in such an office (rather than a modern office building) can this series of farce happen, and finally get a happy ending.
"Story of the Office" tells the joys and sorrows of ordinary people. Its protagonist is just like you and me. There are weaknesses and strengths, unsatisfactory points, and expectations for the future. Such a film is like a breeze, a clear stream, allowing people to see the beauty of ordinary life and believe in the truth and happiness in the ordinary.
