The story of stepmother and stepson’s affair can have countless versions of perspectives: curious, pornographic, bloody, scolding... In comparison, the Nordic movie "Queen of Hearts" is quite like a family documentary. Dark, calm and restrained, using delicate lens language and actor's eye movements to lead you into the abyss of lust.
When things were revealed that the audience couldn't help but want to confess to accept the punishment, the protagonist Anna calmly cleansed all the stains and moved the out-of-control high-speed train back to the normal track with her own effort-even at the cost of the death of her stepson.
The most intriguing part of the whole movie is the game between civilization and barbarism. There are only two types of scenes in the film: clean and orderly office spaces, middle-class houses, and jungles and rivers in the wild, civilized and barbaric, with a clear visual contrast. Anna and her husband’s tastefully decorated large villa sits directly in a large lush jungle, and the ethical desires breed in the call of the sun, trees, and rivers, and then erupt in the bedroom.
People can disregard all ethics and morals for enjoyment, and they can also do everything for a decent and better life. "Queen of Hearts" (Queen of Hearts) is extremely scary, and the heroine is indeed a master of heart manipulation.
For the middle class, cheating is just occasionally breaking the order to release the real self, just like the emerald landscape, sitting in a big villa has a great view. According to this theory, guess the heroine, will she release her lust again next time?
In the film, what is the difference between the stepson who is lured by the stepmother and then planted and blamed, and the young girl who is harmed by the rich and handsome men in most stories?
It has nothing to do with gender or love. No one notices that the core of these stories is the unequal status, where the power overwhelms the weak. Like the end of the film, not everyone can get justice. And such a story may be staged every day.
There are scenes of reading "Alice in Wonderland" in PS movies many times, and the Queen of Hearts is actually the red queen in Alice. It is even better to think about what the Red Queen and the king have done to correspond to the movie. There are really many details in this film that are worth remembering.
