"Twilight": Conspiracy with handcuffs willingly

There are no real four seasons in the South.

In the past few months, it has not rained, and it has never been cold. I saw on TV that the first snow fell in Chifeng in late September, while Lingnan was still so hot and humid. It was only raining in the past few days, and the temperature was slightly milder, still at 22 degrees. It was the solar terms in winter, with a faint taste of autumn, and after a long time, I got used to it.

But in my heart, I always miss the rumbling sense of winter. Although he is wrapped in thick clothes, his heart is much smoother, and he is not so swollen. Living in a place where the four seasons are indistinct, it is always impossible to integrate into this kind of aura, because the head is always empty, or the pain is so terrible, other than that, there are only mosquitoes, flies and cockroaches in the field of vision, even if it is At the end of November.

I remember that in November 1976, you were still young and you were reading the newspaper. The newspaper published a photo of a farm worker in Hainan wearing a short-sleeved shirt denouncing the crime of the Gang of Four. The adults said that the place is really interesting, it is almost snowing here, and they are still living a hot day. After so many years, I have deeply realized a certain kind of "energy" that the photo brings to you. Of course, the old people have reasons to like the "winter" here.

Whose hiss did you hear again?

For some reason, because of a late autumn rain, I remembered these old things. It may also be uncomfortable that this Finnish film "Twilight", written and directed by the famous Finnish director Aki Kaurismaki. The style of the film is calm, indifferent and hopeless, but not suffocating.

A lonely security guard who discriminates and anti-discrimination always faces everything in silence. The arrival of the "Seven Fairies" is just a trick used by criminal groups. As a result, the jewellery shop was stolen, so, logically, Costinan became a scapegoat.

The crux of the problem is that he, who is frustrated with everything, willingly becomes the only "handcuffed complicity." After being sentenced to one year and being released from prison, he still couldn't escape the clutches of the bad guys. It seems that we can find some kind of shaky shadow in our reality.

If this is a simple "theft" film, there is no point in discussing the shock this film brings to us. In fact, such a young man who appears to be at the bottom of life has only a simple heart, but he has to deal with complex and terrifying reality. The results can be imagined.

Aki's ability to make such a film also shows that Finland, like other Nordic countries, is a country with deep nourishment of art. No one should underestimate Finland. Before the Second World War, a tiny Finland had withstood hundreds of thousands of Soviet troops' invasion and defeated the Soviets. Otherwise, Finland would have been dismembered by the Soviet Union a long time ago.

The rain stopped and walked out of "Twilight."

But you remember the helpless eyes of the protagonist Costinan, and there is a wave of anger in the clarity. Perhaps, besides hopelessness, it is the long night, indulging in crying in my heart, but incomparably quiet on the outside. This is the glimmer of his disillusionment; this is also the light of the twilight, giving him a little hope, or endless suffering.

  • Shift Manager: And what was your name?

    Koistinen: Koistinen. Just like before.

  • Bank Manager: [Bank manager is reviewing Koistinen's application for a small-business loan] Tell me, Koistinen... Are you some kind of comedian?

    Koistinen: Why?

Bank Manager: Did you come to cheer us up? What are these papers? A trade school diploma... Did you think it will give you a loan of two hundred thousand - without any security, any guarantors?

Koistinen: I'll guarantee it myself, until the company gets going and...

Koistinen: [Interrupting him] Guarantees from trash like you are worthless.

Koistinen: But I've got an account here.

Bank Manager: I won't even take your application further. It's rejected. You're only wasting my time and yours. Go away.
