Maybe he doesn't know the right way, but he is the only person in that small town who really treats her. Even though everyone, including his mother, thinks that he is a worthless ruffian, how much value can a ruffian’s sincerity be? This role is actually very memorable. Because from the beginning to the end, the director did not uphold him any more. He is such a real person, so real that he doesn't seem to be a person who appears in the movie, but does not bear any role meaning for the movie. Many films will end with abrupt cessation. Some are purely mystery, and "Miyang" is the most used film I have seen so far. Because as the movie progresses, we, as the audience, have unknowingly become vulnerable and at a loss. In such a situation, any ending given by the director would be frustrating. So he turned off the camera. Throw all the unresolved fate in that piece of sunlight.
