Introduction

This is a movie about being shot "in spring," the story of what happens when (1991). The content revolved around two actors who played husband and wife in "Spring". By chance, the director found the two of them to shoot together, but unexpectedly discovered an interesting relationship between them.

In this last song, the director originally did not intend to come up with a summary. Instead, the journey of exploring life was tossed away to a love story between a man and a woman. But that is not an epic love masterpiece, nor is it a fairy tale in which lovers eventually become married, nor a history of lingering love and hatred, let alone a tragic love song of terminally ill and desperate people crying into tears.

A simple beginning, a simple end.

※ ※ ※When

I watched "Lover under the Olive Tree", it was like watching a brand new movie, but at the same time, it was like looking back at the "Spring" movie I had watched before. At first it seemed nothing special. It was like watching her production special. It was all about how the staff behind the scenes looked for chalkboards, how to find actors, and why there were so many NG‥‥‥ in that shot. However, if you look closely, it turns out that it is not as simple as making a special feature, because there are two actors in it, and the relationship between them fascinates me to follow it. Soon I will find that it does have a "play in play" appearance. .

The director seems to have discovered that there is a more interesting story behind the camera. The man is a former "Sanxing" worker who has never studied and has no house. The woman is an intellectual who lost her parents in the earthquake and only depends on her mother-in-law. The mother-in-law stood firm and would never allow a poor person with no knowledge to marry her granddaughter. The man's stand was also very firm, he wanted that girl to live happily and wanted to take care of her. What about the woman? But never showed any position in front of them or us.

What's more interesting is that the man kept asking the woman's wishes, hoping that she would give him a reply. It's just that, except during the filming process, where the woman talked to the man for dialogue, she never said a word to him, not even a single reaction. However, the man is still persevering, constantly trying to break the gap between the two. At least, she will at least have a response, right? The hateful thing is that the woman does not seem to accept the love of the man, but she does not refuse it. What is she thinking in her heart? Why would she be like this? Is she interesting anyway?

Not only this man, but I also became anxious. I believe the one who is least worried is actually the director. He is still the same as me, continuing to tell us about the production process in front of the camera, and at the same time continuing his semi-documentary method behind the camera, continuing to slowly explain the situation of the villagers after the disaster. Sometimes I visit the old man who has lost his wife and ask him why he no longer marries. It turns out that the old gentleman has lived from one end to the other. For many years, the husband and wife can't explain clearly in a few words, let alone the deepest relationship. Then the next morning, chatting with the actor on the grassland in this disaster-stricken area, in a quiet morning, with fresh air, it seems that breathing here has become the only pleasure.

Is it the only fun? It seems not. At least, the biggest pleasure of the villagers is that group of film crews. They are already known about making movies. Men, women and children are very excited and curious, and they have become a common topic. As for what kind of disasters and pains, I can forget about it for the time being, and go to see the director filming, which is extremely fun.

It is really fun to watch the filming, especially when I see the man and woman behind the camera, it is even more interesting. Because during the official filming, they would talk and act very normally, but when NG was shut down, because they were upstairs and all the staff were downstairs, the man took this opportunity to hope to be there. Without being disturbed, keep persuading the girl so that she will have an answer. Suddenly, the camera was about to be turned on again, called action, and the two of them could enter the scene immediately, and continue to act if nothing happened. If the NG stops, the man will try other methods to please her again, in short, he will try his best to get a response ‥‥‥God, but this girl is really tough and powerful.

Okay, when the filming is over, the director said to close the work, but in fact their story is still entangled. Seeing the girl walking home with a pot of flowers, the man was at a loss. At this time, the director of the ghost horse came over quietly, suggesting that he chased him down. The man still doesn't want to give up. All he wants is a reply. Why is it so difficult for her to speak?

Thus, the final blow was officially launched.

The girl kept walking forward, and the man kept following behind. Of course he won't calm down, he still seizes the opportunity, keeps citing reasons for loving her, keeps saying promises to take care of her, keeps asking her for a reply. When she reached the jungle, the woman never stopped or looked back, as if she couldn't hear him at all, she just walked forward with all her heart. The man became a little impatient at first, why? Why do you never answer? There are only two of us here. Is it so difficult to answer "good" or "bad"? As long as you refuse, I won't bother you anymore, can I? I'm not a bad person! I know I have no knowledge, but I don't want to marry a peasant girl who has never read, because she doesn't know how to educate our children. What do you mean by the look in your eyes that day? Does the hint mean anything to me? I will work hard. For you, I will return to the "three trades" industry again. Did you know that this trade can make a lot of money? I can buy a house so that we can have a good environment to live together. I'm serious Yes, I want to take care of you, because I want you to be happy, and I want you to be happy.

Just one reply, can you?

I sympathize with this man, because he is really a caring person. And he didn't get to the door of other people's house crying and crying. The opportunity to have this opportunity depends entirely on their willingness to participate in the filming. However, intention, coupled with opportunity, does not necessarily mean success. Looking closely at the tortuous path that the girl walked, it turned out that it was the rugged mountain trail that the little boy had walked in the film "Tread".

Well, the road ahead is still bumpy and hard to move.

The man walked to the mountain and stopped, and saw that the girl had reached the olive grove at the bottom of the mountain. The man hesitated for a while and decided to pursue it. At this moment, the director didn't seem to want to keep chasing, so he simply locked the camera on the top of the mountain and took a long shot of them. Then, you will see two small things walking through the woods one after the other, towards the vast grass. Following the start, I went further and further, so far that even two small things began to blur.‥‥‥

Suddenly, at the end of the grass, the two of them seemed a little different, but we couldn't see clearly or hear. After a while, the caring person turned around and ran back, while the girl continued to move forward. The two suddenly broke up like this. What happened? Is the man running excitedly, celebrating his finally accepted victory? Or, is that running selflessly, venting the sadness of rejection in my heart? Or was it a kind of run that was not angry and disappointed with her, because he didn't get a reply in the end?

Will the couple under the olive tree become lovers or strangers? Let us move with the breeze and think as we wish. However, no matter what the result is, under these olive trees that are being caressed by the breeze, Kiarostami puts a simple and true end to this last song. Moreover, it left us with such a wonderful memory.

  • Hossein: Mam, I'm really sorry. I want to do everything you ask me, but I won't do masonry. I don't work in construction anymore. I came to act in your film. I will work as an actor, but not as a mason.
