A seemingly bright but deeply moving movie. After nearly 100 minutes, as the story develops, the more you look at it, the more you see which part of your heart is stuck, even though the director has deliberately said the story so calmly .

The film tells the story of a young man who has been discharged from the Navy. With his mother’s relics, he finds his father he has never met. After being coldly rejected by the other party, he takes revenge at all costs and fights for the rights of his "son".

Director James Marsh, a documentary-born director, directed a feature-length feature film for the first time, which involved controversial themes. His unique movie language deeply explored this story about crime, family, religion, and ethics. The soundtrack of the whole film is extremely ingenious, clearly layered, concise and smooth, without any sense of procrastination. It hides the heavy and distorted human nature behind the bright rhythm, making it even more tragic.

The interpretation of the protagonist by the Mexican guy Gael Garcia Bernal who was once known as the "camera animal" should be the biggest highlight of the film. In addition to being in place, it is wonderful. Every subtle movement and look in his eyes reveal the protagonist's youthful, distorted character and the wildness and desire for love. The protagonist has repeatedly subverted traditional values, but the audience is forced to forgive him time and time again. Gael Garcia Bernal's superb character interpretation talent can't help but applaud.
