A red dress will kill you! ! !

Object horror movies have always been an important subtype of horror movies. Wigs, ancient mirrors, clothing, cars, dolls, etc. can all be the carriers of the curse. In such a movie, since the villain is an object that cannot be spoken, the scary people mainly create a weird atmosphere.

For example, Stephen King's novel "Christine" is about a murderous car. This car is like a jealous woman. She loves the owner deeply. When the owner has a new love, she will make trouble from it. Finally, the car and the driver went to destruction together.

"Fabric" is a new work by personality director Peter Strykerland. I like several of his previous works. He developed from an independent filmmaker to a director of the current genre, and increased his audience, which is considered a successful transformation. From the beginning of "Cult Recording Studio" (exhibited at the European Union Film Festival in Beijing), he has embarked on the path of leaded movies, and has matured in art until now.

Afterwards, Peter's "Duke of Burgundy" was extremely unique and exquisite, which caused great international repercussions and won many awards. The story unconventionally tells a story of lace sadomasochism, which is unforgettable after watching it. It is this film that established the name of Master Peter Cult.

"Fabric" is not blindly imitating the lead movie of Alquito style, but a mixture of multiple forms. It is a mixture of David Lynch’s weird alienation and the absurdity of ancient exploits, so it’s not very enjoyable to watch it as a horror film.

The story is very simple. It is a beautiful red dress. Whoever buys it and wears it will lead to bad luck and die. There is no logic and no reason, it just shows the weirdness in the department store where the dress is sold. Its simplicity and directness border on the temperament of the mill exploiting movies of the 1970s.

The theme of the movie seems to attack consumerism. People are ruthlessly materialized. Those overwhelming advertisements, TV promotions, promotions, product color pages, etc. unknowingly attract and tempt our attention, occupying too much time and energy to buy these serious excesses.

In the end, customers rushed to check out and caused quarrels, fights, vandalism, and fires, which caused the department store to be burned. It seemed a bit hysterical, but the director still did not exaggerate violence and blood. This is completely different from Aquido.

That red dress is also a symbol of desire. People killed by it eventually become slaves, making the same dresses in the cellar, and there are a lot of vacant seats in the lower level, waiting for the shopping slaves to pay the bill with their lives!
