A dream in the soil, intoxicated for a lifetime

I have a bad habit of spoiling film reviews. So this thing should not be written as a film review. It's just routine pantothenic acid.

After watching the zero-point premiere, the copycat IMAX's RPX cinema, Real 3D and high frame rate are really great. After watching it, I have been telling my friends that for the first time, watching 3D without dizziness, I still have more thoughts!

The big theater is basically full, and there are others cosplaying besides me, but it's the first time I have cosplayed to watch a movie. Really, apart from the old man’s stuff, there is nothing that can make me so crazy... I

must praise the peculiar PJ casting. The actors of Bilbo and Thorin are so good. Bilbo has a lot of highlights. Thorin may become the second Uncle A (

what ?), but in fact nothing compares to the connection with the LotR trilogy.

The first wave of film reviews always looked like someone disliked the opening director. As a Ringer, I just can't wait to take another look.
When the characters in LotR movies appeared, I trembled in my seat with excitement.
PJ can play, many lenses pay tribute to LotR, Ringers will feel it.
Fans will love this movie, it's hard for non-fans to say, but PJ has always stood by the position of fans making movies for fans, and can't love him anymore!

The above words are all incoherent. In fact, what I want to say is: "The Lord of the Rings" is not just a heavy novel and three terrible movies for me. It is part of my youth, growth process and life and cannot be replaced.

"The Hobbit" is not my favorite among the old man's works, or even my second favorite. But it has its own flavor. It is the starting point for entering a vast world. After the gusty rains of "The Lord of the Rings", and after experiencing the deep love and blood that made people cry from half of the movie until the end of the movie, I returned to the fairy tale opening.

This is not only a relive of an old dream, it is also a dream come true.
At the same time, it is also the starting point of a new journey.
The journeys all happen to the same world, the same time and space, and the same group of people.

(There is one star spoiler below for those who haven’t read the original, Ringer please ignore this warning)

So when I saw Frodo appearing on the timeline at the same time as the opening of Fotor wearing green overalls, I couldn't restrain myself. That unweathered face compared with the haggard look on RotK's Doom Mountain made me feel distressed and want to cry.

So when I saw the cute Bahrain with a white beard, I thought of a tombstone struck down by a beam of light in the mine of Moria. I thought of the phrase "We cannot get out." when I saw the little and lovable Ori jumping around. The feeling of vicissitudes and impermanence came surging at this moment.

Even the elves who have no sense of vicissitudes, like the static coordinates of time and space, are the same.

The fascinating part of this world is that we know that their lives are so wonderful, and we will always only have a glimpse of it.

Thank you Professor Tolkien, thank you for giving me a dream.
Thank you PJ, thank you for enriching this dream and making it alive and bright.

A dream in the soil, intoxicated for a lifetime.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey quotes

  • Bilbo Baggins: I have... I have never used a sword in my life.

Gandalf: And I hope you never have to. But if you do, remember this: true courage is about knowing not when to take a life, but when to spare one.

  • Dori: Mr. Gandalf, can't you do something about this deluge?

Gandalf: It is raining, Master dwarf, and it will continue to rain until the rain is done. If you wish to change the weather of the world, you should find yourself another wizard.

    Bilbo Baggins: Are there any?

    Gandalf: What?

    Bilbo Baggins: Other wizards?

Gandalf: There are five of us. The greatest of our order is Saruman the White. And then there are the two Blue Wizards... You know, I've quite forgotten their names.

    Bilbo Baggins: And the fifth?

Gandalf: Well, that would be Radagast the Brown.

Bilbo Baggins: Is he a great wizard, or is he more like you?

Gandalf: Well, I think he is a very great wizard... in his own way. He's a gentle soul who prefers the company of animals for others. He keeps a watchful eye over the vast forest lands to the East, and a good thing too. For always evil will look to find a foothold in this world.
