Simone vs Truman's World

In an afternoon of vacation, I finished watching Simone (S1m0ne). After that, I couldn't help but make a small comparison between the two films, and at the time, I didn't know any background information about Simone (S1m0ne). Haha, I checked the DVD complete manual today and found out that the director and screenwriter of "Simonie" and the screenwriter of "The Truman Show" are actually the same person, Andrew Nico.

The difference between the two films is that in Truman, only one person was deceived and everyone knew the truth, while in Simone, only one person knew the truth, and all people were deceived. It seems that the latter has a greater momentum. After all, it is possible to lie to one person, and it is difficult to lie to the whole world, but Al Pacino said in Simone that it is much easier to lie to a hundred thousand people than to lie to one person, hehe , Maybe it's ture. The biggest commonality between the two is that they are both looking for a boundary between true and false.

Another part of Truman and Simon’s imagination is that Jin Kelly in Truman changed from the nonsensical style of the past and became a little more serious, while in Simon, Al Pacino changed from the coolness of the past, with disheveled hair. , A broken state, both of which make me dare not recognize at all.

When I watched Truman in college, I used a 15-inch broken computer, but it gave me a deep shock about people and the world, and even wondered if my world is also surrounded by another virtual space in this way. , That kind of loneliness is deep in my heart.

When watching Simone, I only thought it was a light comedy. It was very novel in the new image of Pacino. The storyline felt a bit procrastinated. After all, we have been surrounded by such stories over the years, such as The Matrix. But after watching it, I was also worried about whether my favorite movie star was also made in this way? Haha, once Pandora's box is opened, we all have to face the test of truth and falsity.

In any case, these two films are both very good films and worth recommending.

  • [Truman and Meryl continue to drive away from Seahaven; Meryl spots a "Danger: Fire Hazard" sign]

    Meryl: What about that sign?

Truman Burbank: I'm sure they're exaggerating. We'll be fine.

[Out of nowhere, a massive of fire erupts in the middle of the road]

Meryl: [panicked] What bout that there? Would you believe that?

[Truman and Meryl drive through the fire, and aside from a lot of smoke pouring in, they are fine]

Meryl: Oh. Oh boy. Truman, we're on fire!

    Truman Burbank: It's okay!

    Meryl: We're on fire!

Truman Burbank: It's okay! It's just smoke! Just smoke. You okay?

    Meryl: [terrified] YES!
