Logical Analysis of "Minority Report"

Jon is aware that there is a problem with the case of the "Anonymous" who tried to kill the Prophet's mother. In fact, this was planned by Rama. After Rama learned that Jon was going to reverse the case of "Anonymous", he set up a situation to frame Jon. Rama tells D to pretend to be the one who killed Jon's child and ask Jon to kill him.

But Jon and D did not know each other before. The question is how did Rama lead Jon to the scene of the incident?

Movies are not reality, and there may be logical errors. But let's assume that there is no logical error and let's see what is going on.

According to the context of the movie, there are two trigger lines for the event: a. Jon reverses the case → Rama sets up the bureau → D pretends → the scene of the incident. b The prophet predicts that Jon will kill → Jon will escape → the scene of the incident.

Rama's establishment of a bureau only created criminal conditions, but it did not allow the prophet to predict Jon's killing. Assuming that the Prophet did not predict that Jon would kill, Jon would not run, let alone go to the scene of the incident. Rama has no ability to control the development of events at all. It's like he can only pile up charcoal, and whether he can ignite or not depends on the prophet.

In addition, assuming that the Prophet first predicted that Jon would kill, Rama used this prediction to take advantage of the opportunity to frame him. Now that the prophets have predicted, what effort does Rama take? Just grab someone directly.

Then there is only one possibility. The entire incident was planned by the prophet. She first showed Jon the scene of her mother being killed. Jon reversed the case, and Jon reversed the case. The Prophet then predicted that Jon's murder triggered Jon's escape, and later assisted Jon in avoiding the pursuit and came to the scene of the incident smoothly. In fact, Jon did not kill in the end. But through this process, Jon finally found out the case of the Prophet’s mother.

I speculate that the prophet can control the picture he predicts, so he has always controlled the direction of the whole thing.

A science fiction film that deeply explores whether people have free will. You cannot look at it from the surface. If you only look at the gorgeousness of the goddesses and the actions of the pursuers, then this film is also three stars. Deeply thinking about the future social structure and technology mastering all the sorrows of mankind, the fear of the era of intubation behind the head comes from this.

Put aside the fucking ending and the emotional scene that took up too much time. Regarding the future and present, the various dilemmas of doing and not doing, should and shouldn’t, etc. are very good. Even thinking about the anti-terrorism policy of a certain country today is a good idea.

  • Wally the Caretaker: You're not allowed in here - who are you? Do I know you?

John Anderton: [in disguise, grabs Wally by the collar] Listen, Wally - I like you. So, I don't wanna have to kick you or hit you with anything hard, but only if you promise to help me.

Wally the Caretaker: ...Oh, hi, John.
