The movie "The Hunt for Bin Laden" is full of documentary style. It may be the best work produced by a native American director in 2012, and may be the biggest bead of the 85th Oscar.
Maya is a capable and determined female agent of the US Central Intelligence Agency. Since 9/11, she has been dedicated to finding Bin Laden. She came to Pakistan alone, looking for clues like a needle in a haystack in the boundless intelligence and information. Ten years of youth desperately Squandered in this seemingly hopeless pursuit. She participated in countless tortures to extract confessions, witnessed the deaths of many colleagues, tracked down many clues, and questioned many witnesses. Finally, following an unremarkable clue, she finally led the members of the SEALs to successfully kill Osama bin Laden.
The director used his own distinctive documentary style to interpret this film. The whole film looks very smooth and flat. You might even think that this is a real documentary. This is also true, the last half-hour or so of the search will appear so exciting and subtle.
