When Randa took his assistants to look for the congressman, the TV showed people holding signs to celebrate the end of the US-Vietnam War, and the family was finally able to return.
When the anti-war reporter Mason met with Colonel Preston, there was a short but meaningful conversation. The colonel said that they did not lose, but just gave up the war.
The plot where Mason took photos of the soldiers was also intended to show the conditions of the soldiers after the war. The soldiers were chatting about letters written to their relatives.
The US-Vietnam War was a meaningless war in the eyes of many Americans. Soldiers on the front line died but never won. At the end of the fight, I didn't know why I was fighting. People in the country look forward to returning home from the front lines, and have held countless demonstrations hoping that the government can abandon this useless war.
The colonel can be said to be a symbol of the whole group of the main battle faction. He doesn’t care if his people will be killed by Kong because they lost the explosives first, and he doesn’t even care that Kong’s death will bring disaster to the entire island, just as he supported it at the time. The political officials of the US-Vietnam War must persist even if they fail to win the war, and they will not hesitate to pour the nation's financial resources into fighting a war of unknown significance. The contradiction between the hostess and the colonel is actually the contradiction between the anti-war faction and the main combat faction.
The veteran who had been on the island during World War II said that he and the Japanese soldier killed themselves during the war, and they became brothers after they were out of the war.
I only watched the movie once, and it may be a bit messy in my presentation. Hope you all forgive me.
I think this script is really good. The positioning of the heroine's anti-war reporter and the relics left by the hero's father's death in the war are not meaningless.
PS makes sense, only Jing Tian was Hu Sai in the whole movie.
