The biggest difference between the little guy and the big hero is that the little guy waits for others to rescue him, while the big hero can always stand up to rescue when others need him. The film uses the dual-protagonist character setting technique. Ryan Gosling plays Holland March, a private detective; Russell Crowe plays Jackson Healy, is an income-dependent person. A boxer with money to eliminate disasters. They never thought of being a hero who is righteous and awe-inspiring.
Scene one: "You gave seven dollars less" in
the first scene of Jackson and Emilia in the movie. Emilia talks intently about what happened to her. Someone keeps following her and Jackson counts the money. Attentively, it seems to listen to the girl's words seriously. Then seriously said to the girl, "You gave seven dollars less." The girl's emotions were interrupted, she was shocked, so she took her purse and expressed her apologies. Jackson looked at his amateur flyers and thought to be a serious private investigator.
Scene two "Being a private detective can live in such a good house?" The
first time the two protagonists met was in Holland's house. As the saying goes, "I don't know each other if I don't fight." Holland just opened the door of his own house. It was Jackson's violent beating. Jackson stated that the purpose of his trip was not to rob, but to deliver a message for his guest. When he discovered that Holland was a private investigator, he forgot about the seriousness of sending a letter, but asked, "Being a private investigator can live in such a good house?" Until Holland, who was beaten on the ground, asked him whether he wanted to send a letter. When he believed something, Jackson was relieved.
Scene three "Can you continue the investigation?-No."
Holland went to the employer's residence and told her that she would no longer trace Emilia's whereabouts. The employer was not reconciled and still begged Holland to continue the investigation, even if it was not his niece. The employer said, "Can you continue the investigation?" Holland rebuffed. When he was about to walk out the door, when the employer gestured to him with the checkbook, he frowned and hesitated for a long time, and then walked out the door.
Scene 4 "You hurry up and go to the bank to grab it in time"
Jackson realized the seriousness of the matter and wanted Holland to continue searching for Emilia's whereabouts. When Holland recounted the clues he had found before, he suddenly interrupted the rhythm. Said that if Jackson wants to know how things will develop in the future, he must pay himself three days in advance. Jackson said that he could only pay two days in advance, and Holland said that "it's still early, you can go to the bank to grab it in time." The two started to care about remuneration.
Scene 5 "At least five thousand yuan, right?"
Holland and Jackson came to Emilia's mother's office. The mother expressed the hope that the two of them could trace their daughter's whereabouts and protect her, and were willing to pay. The two said that the cost of hiring them was very high, and after adding them up, they said, "If this is the case, the salary should be at least five thousand yuan." While they were talking, their mother was writing a check for 10,000 yuan. Upon hearing the 5,000 yuan they said, she immediately tore off the check that had been written.
Scene 6 "You better don't go up." After
learning that Emilia might be in danger, the two are going to go to the top of the hotel to rescue her. The bartender advises them "You better don't go up". After reaching the top floor, the two looked out the corridor and found that one was bleeding and the other was continuously shot by bullets. The two stood back to the elevator without hesitation, and without taking a step, they sprinted along the original road.
Jackson and Holland have always been small people. They never wanted to be big heroes. But when they take the initiative to act as a mission to rescue others and expose the truth, the coats of the little people will be removed and they will be transformed into heroes of uprightness.
