Salvation or rebirth

This is a movie that requires some patience to watch.

The lengthy story of the first 100 minutes was so slow that it drove me crazy and looked like on pins and needles. I even secretly cursed what the hell was the director TMD talking about? I think if it weren't recommended by high scores, I'm afraid this movie would have been thrown into the pile of bad movies long ago. But when Tim called his friend in the rain: "it's time, I love you", the story gradually began to become clear. When all the truth began, when the final piano sound rang and the heroine looked at Ezra's eyes hard, she realized that she was already in tears and couldn't help herself. When I watched it over and over again, I re-examined every detail in the movie, and then I truly showed the story in its entirety.

If Tim’s misery and intention to commit suicide at the beginning was to complete self-salvation because of the unbearable lightness of life, then the final suicide in the film is more like rebirth, in order to rebirth the one he loves, it is unbearable in his life. Heavy.

When the movie opens, when he examines the lives of others as an outsider and decides to end his own life, it is largely due to his own guilt. Because there is no love in life, because the heart is ashamed. Because of love, it ends with death. But when he really participated in Emily's life, he felt that this world would be so worthy of nostalgia because of love. Seeing him rushing in tears in the rain, and finally making up his mind, I think at that moment, how much courage is needed. I think death at this time may be more meaningful to him.

I don’t know whether a person is qualified to put himself in such a compassionate perspective to judge a person’s good or bad or determine a person’s life or death, but I know that if a person has concerns about living but dares to face death, that’s Really brave.

I have to say that Will Smith is really because this movie subverted my consistent impression of him. Being the impulsive but emotional policeman in "I, Robat" or the savior of "I am the legend" made me feel about him. Most of the time I stayed at action stars, this film made me realize a different Will Smith.

Maybe you will say that this movie is too dull, maybe you will also say that this movie is too hypocritical, but I just want to say that this is a story worth listening to several times, because everything is just for the last 20 minutes of moving. .

  • Ezra Turner: [Last lines] You must be Emily. It's so nice to meet you.

  • Ben Thomas: The first time I ever saw a box jellyfish, I was twelve. Our father took us to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I never forgot what he said... That it was the most deadly creature on earth. To me it was just the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.
