's hunting of people is different from ordinary hunting, whoever hunts people holding weapons for a long time, and use this For fun, let them have no interest in hunting anything.
———Hemingway
location. The Allegheny Mountains, the road, and light snow. In 1968, at dawn,
a large tanker truck decelerated off the road and turned into a narrow civilian highway. This was a fork in the road that was gradually forgotten. It winds under the main road, passes through the passage under the viaduct, and extends to the small steel-producing city of Clareton, Pennsylvania.
Location. Clairton, the
large steel mill at dawn, billowed in dust, towering above the small town like a giant. Five huge blast furnaces are entrenched in the river valley, each of which is more than twelve stories high, and thick clouds of white smoke cross the blue sky of winter. The beating fire can be caught through the furnace window, and a long flame flickers and flickers from the top of the pull-wire metal flue. The steam leaped out of the exhaust hole and flue into the clouds, hissing, clanging, rumbling, screaming... all the noise came from afar, and then became faint with the slowly falling white snow.
In the foreground, the only commercial street in the small town—Divison Avenue—is also at the bottom of this narrow floodplain, next to the steel mill. Divison Avenue was dilapidated and miserable. The declining shop abuts the narrow sidewalk. The dilapidated sign was creaked by the wind. Small Victorian houses are embedded between shops or scattered on the winding roads along the mountainside. Some of these houses are three stories high, some are taller, and they all look shaky. If they were not connected one by one by inexplicably arranged public lines, they would undoubtedly collapse. These lines criss-cross between dangerous houses, sometimes relying on inclined poles to support them.
The theme music sounded—it was a harsh and terrifying piece—at this time, we saw the fully loaded truck approaching through the muddy Davison Avenue. The truck roared and approached the camera, roaring down the slippery slope and out of sight as if to shake the town down. A man shrank against the violent storm and snow. He walked across the narrow sidewalk to the steel mill and disappeared. The camera was still pointed at the steel mill and the deserted street, faded into the abbreviation "Deer Hunter", the theme music stopped abruptly, and stopped for a moment.
interior. At the steelmaking plant,
when pure oxygen was blown into the blast furnace at dawn , a huge tongue of fire roared up two stories high. Under the scaffolding, the incandescent ingot is pulled out of the soaking tank by a giant bridge crane. The crane slid a mile-long track, unloaded the ingots on the rolling mill, and gave out a sharp whistling, followed by the second ingot, the third, the fourth, and the fifth. These ingots were very large, trembling with heat, and made terrible vibrations when they fell.
Subtitles fade in on the following background:
interior. Blast furnace, at dawn
we saw the workers in the casting room turning lightly over the conveying trough, preparing to tap steel from the blast furnace with spider web-like bridge passages and I-frames on it. There are five of them, all young. They wore leather aprons, opaque goggles and waist-long asbestos hoods. The heat caused them to bend over and sweaty, looking like characters in a ballet representing hell. Since they are all wearing goggles, it is difficult to distinguish them. But three of them are younger and look particularly cool in operation. They are Nick, Steven and Michael.
Michael lifted up a long steelmaking drill and plunged it into the slag crust enclosed in the open taphole at the base of the blast furnace. When the steel-making drill pierced the crust, the white-hot molten iron made a huge explosion sound, gushing out from the tapping hole, emitting a miraculous shower-like spark, and poured into a deep conveyance in the brick floor.内槽。 In the slot. Nick slammed open the heavy gate, and the molten iron roared through a series of interconnected channels across the ground. These channels are managed by two people. The tallest one is called Axel, and the other is the shortest one, Stan. He monitors the continuous delivery of molten iron to the opening, and people waiting for the molten iron lined with bricks on the rails below. In the car.
The heat wave is tumbling and the temperature is surprisingly high. When these workers stepped back and forth across the deadly flowing molten iron flow, their body contours produced unexpected and eye-catching image changes - suddenly becoming fat, suddenly thinner, suddenly shorter, and suddenly taller. Michael assumed a commanding posture, even a bit arrogant. He is the shift foreman.
The camera moves closer to Nick, and the blast furnace close at hand is frightening and the noise is deafening. The white hot molten iron continued to spray out bursts of sparks and flames from the tapping hole. Taking a nap, Michael stabbed Nick with the steel-making drill in his hand. Both of them made a tortoise horn (Note 1) at Steven. Steven shook his hand and said he ignored it. Michael and Nick made a turtle horn action again. This time Steven put his hands on his hips and ignored them deliberately. Michael and Nick laughed, and Steven couldn't help but laugh too. At this moment, a conveying trough started to flow molten iron, and Axel turned around and glanced at them, and they concentrated again.
The credits fade out.
interior. The Russian Orthodox Church, the altar,
the contrast in the early morning could not be more stark. A young priest who was prematurely bald, two altar servants and an elderly caretaker were preparing for a wedding ceremony. When the priest opened the locker and took out the fine candles and two golden wedding crowns prepared for the wedding, Steven's mother was hovering aside. The priest walked with a rigid, uncomfortable slow gait, while Steven's mother was troubled by chagrin and anxiety.
Steven's mother: Are you ready? Is everything arranged in order?
Priest: Yes.
Steven's mother: Are you sure everything is ready? Did you lie to me?
The priest (slightly smiles): No.
Steven's mother: How many times can the eldest son get married? ...Just this time. (The priest laughs again) It will snow...Everyone will fall, everybody will slip...All cars will crash! (She covers her mouth and starts crying) I can't believe this... my beloved child... and a strange girl... not so slim, if you can understand what I mean... not that kind Careful girl... On the other hand, two days later, he is going to Vietnam! He is enlisted in the army! He joined the army with his crazy friends. Father, I don't understand. No, I don’t understand anything... I don’t understand, priest! Can you explain all this? Can anyone explain... the
priest smiled softly again. He hugged Steven's mother who was crying and comforted her.
Location. Church, Starkweather Street,
a car rushed up the hill in the early morning and slid down halfway. When the car drove without a shadow, the door of a slanted old-fashioned house suddenly opened, and a group of bridesmaids ran across the street laughing and eating. They continue to make clothes for the wedding, but they have not yet been completed. Each of them is holding ribbons, scissors and a whole piece of material. It was cold, and they held each other's hands and supported each other through the slippery street. A cold wind came and wiped away the clothes in the hands of a bridesmaid. Everyone laughed, and she rushed back to grab them. At this time, another door opened and the bridesmaids entered the house.
The camera stops slightly at Starkweather Street. Snow flakes slanted the shop whose doors were sealed with wooden boards, and piled up on the triangular walls of the toppling little house. Another car entered the screen, rushed forward up the hill, and slid back. Suddenly, the door of a house opened, and a group of older women in the neighborhood walked out carrying a huge white wedding cake decorated with miniature statues of the bride and groom on the top. These women are all in their 50s or 60s. They are wearing boots, black coats and triangle headscarves. As they walked up the street slowly in the snow, surrounded by wedding cakes, we saw the onion-shaped dome of the church towering high behind them.
interior. Steel plant, changing shed, early morning
Lines of clocks for commuting to and from work hung on the wall. A piercing whistle signaled the end of the night shift. Thousands of steelworkers left the factory one after another. Many of them were still wearing safety helmets, their goggles were pushed above their heads, and their clothes and boots were covered with thick dirt. They either flocked to the parking lot that was out of sight, or went straight to a row of neon-lit bars adjacent to the steel mill. These bars stretch out from the neighborhood at one end of Divison Avenue. Nick, Steven, and Michael walked in front of the crowd. After they finished their attendance cards, they walked into the constant stream of people. We saw them clearly for the first time: they are tall and strong, and at this moment, their faces are melancholy, but this goodness can be quickly erased by smiles or laughter. They are smart, keen, and beautiful faces with obvious ethnic characteristics.
Nick: Where is Stan?
Steven: Axel is there! (Screaming) Hi, Axel!
Axel enters the picture. He is burly, six and a half feet tall, muscular, with an Angel-like smile, and his belly is as big as a punt carrying coal. He changes direction now, struggling Pass through the torrent of steel workers after work.
Axel: How do you feel, Steven?
Steven: I think it's pretty good.
Axel (without expression): Are you in a hurry?
Steven beat Axel's arm with his fist. On closer inspection, Steven is no longer a lad, but he is still not a man: there is still something unstable about him.
Nick (laughing and put his arm around Steven's body): Attention, Axel, we will call him "Old Fireball" from tonight...
Axel: Fuck you!
Michael: Stan is there!
Others (shouting): Stan! Come here! Stan!
Michael: Stop him, Axel. Stop Stan!
Axel: I'll stop him.
Axel finally squeezed back into the crowd of steel workers, grabbed Stan, and the two of them squeezed out the crowd again.
Location. Parking lot, gate, early morning
Snow flies, covering the earth, covering thousands of cars stained with soot. The wind and snow roared down. When these five friends entered the parking lot, they all stood there blankly, looking at the gray sky with wide eyes.
Steven: Look there! I have never seen anything like that in the past...what the hell is it?
Michael: It's a sun dog, a good sign... a sun dog!
Everyone looked at Michael, then looked up at the sky. There is a huge and intact solar halo outside of the howling winter sun. On the four equidistant points on the outer edge of the solar halo, there are four halos with dim red halos, each of which is a miniature image of the sun itself.
The spectacle was very surprising, and everyone was silent for a moment.
Axel: What does this mean?
Michael: This is a blessing given by Sirius to his children, the hunters.
Stan: What are you making up?
Michael: This is a traditional saying of the Indians.
Stan (suspiciously): You are just talking nonsense.
Michael: Will I make up such a thing?
Stan: Mike, sometimes no one but the doctor will understand you.
Michael: This is a sign. Jesus, we should also have a great hunt tonight!
Nick: Damn it, Mike, I don't know where you picked up these nonsense.
Steven: Well, wait a minute, Mike. what's on your mind? ...Are you thinking about hunting deer?
Others shook their heads to say "no" and shrugged, embarrassed. They started walking towards Michael's car. This is a worn-out shark fin Cadillac Coudwell car from 1959.
Steven: Not tonight! I want to get married tonight! Why do you guys think of going hunting deer tonight?
Stan: Well, first of all we have to finish your big business. Put you and Angela on the bed again. I mean, what is wrong with doing this? (To other people) Right? Am I right?
Axel: Fuck you.
Steven (jealously): You guys are a real mess. do you know? I mean, you guys are fucking fools!
Stan: You are getting married... and we are fools!
Nick (with his arms around Steven): Alright, alright. Well, it's alright. We will stay here, just with you. All of us. (Look at others) Not willing? right? Am I right?
Michael: That's right.
Axel: Bastard.
The others murmured in agreement. At this time Teletwen was embarrassed. He made a friendly sheep gesture.
Nick (laughs): Come on, come on, you guys! I will pay for the first round of wine this morning.
They walked through the heavy snow to Michael's old Cadillac. They put their arms around Steven, smiled, teased, fists each other, obviously they care about each other. They kissed each other.
Stan: Hey, Steven, do you need help tonight —
Steven (coldly): Sometimes your sense of humor is not funny, Stanley!
Nick: Forget it, Steven —
Michael: Helping fingers —
Stan: Now to my lips...
Axel: Fuck you.
Nick (sarcastically): You are a veritable poet, Agensel.
Axel: I agree with you too much!
interior. The veterans' hall where Lemke participated in foreign wars is
very large in the morning , decorated with pictures of pastoral scenery painted in various colors, like a huge sugar box. There are many tall arched windows on the outer wall. There is a small arched stage on the floor opposite the main entrance, and a huge American flag hangs from the ceiling behind the arch. Women are spreading white paper tablecloths on the shelf table.
Attached to the wall directly above the arched stage are three enlarged photos of Nick, Steven and Michael. These enlarged photos are their high school graduation photos. On the edge are patriotic red, white and blue banners. There is a banner above the frame: "Proud to serve God and the country".
The two old men on the high ladder carefully grasped the banner with trembling hands. The two World War I war veterans looked up at them on the ground. The eyes behind the thick myopia were staring up intently. NS. One of the lenses of the first veteran was black.
Veteran A: I said, upward...what do you say?
Second veteran: Up.
Veteran A (gesturing): Get up close to Steven's photo!
The old man on the ladder moved the banner closer to Steven's picture. The two veterans on the ground looked at it carefully.
Second veteran: I said to the next point... what do you say?
Veteran A: Down.
Veteran B (signing): Go down a little bit.
There was a sudden commotion. The women who were setting the table all rushed to the door. At this time, the older woman walked in with the wedding cake. They were half-to-dead from the cold, and when they walked towards the table in the middle of the room, the audience uttered "Oh" and "Ah" admirations. Suddenly, the oldest woman fainted. Everyone ran to help her sit on the chair and massaged her hands and feet. Someone brought a large glass of wine. She took the cup, drank it in one gulp, and grinned.
Location. Steelworks, parking lot, early in the morning,
Michael's Cady car swayed past the parking lot.
Interior/exterior view. Cardi car, parking lot,
Nick, Steven, Michael, Stan, and Axel are all laughing early in the morning . Michael holds the steering wheel. The wiper has blown away the dust on the windshield in two broad arcs.
Location. In the parking lot, the
Cady car drove through the potholes on the narrow road in the early morning , and went straight out of the parking lot gate facing the narrow end of Divison Avenue. The narrow road turned a small bend under the railway trestle. Obviously no one will pay attention to road signs that warn of danger.
Location. Divison Avenue, early in the morning,
Michael drove crookedly through the narrow passage. At this time, a large tractor with a trailer drove at full speed from the passage under the railway bridge, facing the right side of Michael's car. The tractor immediately deflected to avoid collision...
Axel: Hold on, Michael!
Stan (to Axel): You can't do it.
Ajingsel (prestigiously): Are you accusing me?
Michael (screaming loudly): Shut up, hell! I want to concentrate.
Everyone: Do it, Mike Wang stands up, baby!
interior. In the Kadi sedan,
Mou of the Qing Dynasty Michael moved forward at full speed, with two wheels pressing on the sidewalk, and the car on the right rubbed the stone wall of the railway trestle. The tractor trailer was only a few inches to the left of it, and the car horn was beeping non-stop. On this narrow road, it is difficult to drive two cars at the same time. Nick squeezed by the window of the trailer, carefully studying the minute hand of his watch. Everyone else yelled and cursed at the trailer. Michael leaned back in his seat, his eyes fixed on the road.
Michael: How are we doing?
Nick: Can't do it, you can't beat it.
After saying this, Nick took out his pickup truck license and threw it to Michael.
Ducker: What is this for?
Nick: Your Cardi to my pickup truck.
Michael (attentively): Is today a good day for you?
Nick: I have a good day every day...
A telephone pole leaning against the wall rushed towards me quickly. Mike turned the car to the center of the street and hit the truck. He quickly circumvented the telephone pole, then accelerated to the right across the sidewalk, and suddenly cut to the front left side of the accelerating trailer. Steven has no blood.
Location. John Welch Bar,
there is only one shot between the tractor trailer and the trolley in the early morning . The Cady changed directions three times in a row, and finally slipped and stopped in the mud right in front of the bar.
Axel: Fuck you!
The trailer's horn roared angrily, and gradually disappeared after echoing in the surrounding space. Through the window of the car, we saw that Aksai was still staring at the trailer that was driving out of the picture. He stretched his fist forward and made a victory gesture. There was a loud applause... Michael returned the license to Nick, making a forgiving smile.
Michael: I can take advantage of you --- bet a million. Be sure to be sure.
Nick: No way out.
Steven’s mother’s house, bedroom. Early in the morning,
a plump and beautiful country girl with a pair of big tan eyes on her serious face, she leaned over to look in the mirror. This is Angela, Steven's future bride. She is wearing a white wedding dress and a white wedding dress. She stepped back away from the mirror and stood in the middle of the strange room, looking down at her visibly bulging belly. Angela tried in vain to take her stomach back.
Angela: Oh my god! (She crosses and walks back to the mirror, staring at herself intently, sincerely) I am willing. (Pauses for a moment, she frowns and stares, tries again, heartily) I am willing. (She tried several more times, and the more she said it got worse) I do, I do, I do.
Angela stared at Shou's image again. She looked very lonely at the moment, with a kind of inextricable despair. She cried and threw herself on the bed. On the bed was her torn cardboard suitcase, and under the mess of clothes in the box was a pictorial photo that I didn't know who put it. The photo was facing down, and when Angela pulled it out, she saw the words written on the back.
Angela (read slowly): "That's it—more or less.... Love your mother."
Angela frowned and turned the pictorial photo over. This is a "David" painted by Michelangelo. Angela stared at David for a long time... Angela
: Oh, my God!
Location. Steven's mother's house, front door entrance, early morning
Angela suddenly rushed outside, her long skirt and wedding dress blowing in the biting cold wind. She ran up the steep, rickety wooden ladder leading to the top of the hill. The sky was filled with smoke over the bare trees on the top of the mountain. In the distance, smoke and flames from the chimneys rose slowly above the faintly visible figure of the poor little bride. In the vast and bleak industrial landscape, her depressive sense of fragility is further brought out.
interior. John Welch's bar, the
room was crowded with noisy steelworkers and drinking boiler repairers early in the morning . The sound of the TV wow wow loudly over the bar. A familiar sports reporter is announcing the result of the first half: the Eagles beat Oakland, the score is 14-0. Rows of deer heads were lined up around the bar. The walls are decorated with hand-painted murals. The murals depict hunting scenes and sports scenes, both funny and terrifying, just like these animals have some privacy that cannot be told to the hunter.
John Welch held out a stack of beer glasses from behind the bar, and at the same time, Steven stepped in with Michael, Nick, Stan, and Axel. John is an extremely vulgar and reckless young man. He put down his arms, put his arms around Steven, grinned with gaping teeth, and danced with Steven on the floor. His skin is rough and wrinkled, and it is not ugly even though it is not beautiful. He is a few years older than the others, tall and strong like Axel. But if you look at him for a while, you will notice his unusually soft eyes.
The steel workers in the bar stood up and left the table without exception, and gathered around Steven. They fisted him, joked, shouted congratulations, and blended with the noise of the football game on TV.
Nick (loudly): Hey, I bet the Hawks will never exceed fifty points in the second half of the game with a hundred dollars—and Oakland will beat him by twenty points!
Stan (to everyone): I add another twenty dollars to bet the Hawks quarterback is wearing a skirt.
Axel: Stinky!
He had put down half a glass of beer, and somehow Axel burst into tears.
interior. Linda's room, kitchen, early morning
Linda is very thin, a frail and tall girl, with a beautiful face that is unforgettable. She is Nick's girlfriend, although we don't know this yet. Dressed as a bridesmaid, she stood alone in the kitchen, staring at the ceiling. There was a thumping sound from the aisle upstairs. The footsteps are getting louder and louder. Suddenly, there was a crash, as if something had collapsed, and then there was another sound, as if the furniture had fallen all over the floor. Hearing a man's cursing, there was another bang and crackling noise. Suddenly, something fell with a bang... and then it fell silent. Linda bit her lip, walked to the stove, spooned the broth into a bowl, put butter on the bread, poured a cup of tea, and put them all on the tray.
interior. Linda's house, Linda's father's bedroom, and the
interior is full of destroyed furniture in the early morning . Yizi knocked to the ground, the lamp was broken, and the painting hung on the wall slantingly. Linda's father was lying on the bed in the middle of the room. His coat was torn, one shoe was missing, and he held a half-empty bottle in his hand. Behind him, Blizzard roared into the house through the open window. In the distance, following the roofs of other houses extending down to the commercial street, you can see the steel mills towering above the entire house, the entire city, and the entire river valley. Linda's father turned around and looked at the parking lot of the next group of steel workers with wide eyes. Linda walked into the house with a tray. She stood without expression for a while, looking down at her father. Then he put the tray on the bed and knelt beside his father.
Linda: Dad?
Father (vaguely, eyes still fixed on all the vehicles): Get out... Go see his damn ghost! I'm going to puncture the tire of every car in the city, every damn car. I will do it!
Linda reached out to support his father's shoulders, and picked him up. This required some strength, causing his unshaven, painful face to turn gray. He was drooling, and there was still a stitch stitched on his forehead. When Linda was holding him, he cursed again and rolled off the bed...
Father: My fucking words count, girl. It's like a sea all around! Like a sea of broken tires...
Linda stood up, closed the window, and dampened the constant noise from the steel mill. She turned around, knelt on the floor next to her father, and pushed him to the bed. Then he lifted her bridesmaid's gown, held his shoulders again, and pushed him hard against the bed cover. She could hardly move him, her eyes were wet with tears, but when he slid down again, she pushed hard again. Her father groaned and began to mumble, but when she was almost getting him to the bed, he suddenly slapped her in the face with his arm, and knocked her from one end of the room to the other. Linda staggered backwards when she was hit, tripped over an overturned chair, and slammed into the wall. She struggled to stand up, and her father drew closer to her.
Father: Damn fucking girls... all fucking girls!
He turned around and slapped her hard.
Linda: Dad... Dad, it's me!
Father: I hate them so much, damn stinky girls! I will give each of them a broken tire.
Linda's father swung to her again, lost his balance and fell to the ground. Linda stood there looking at him with her chin resting on it. She began to cry, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Location. Linda's house,
Linda came out of the house early in the morning , went downstairs to the street, and walked into the bitter cold. The dog barked in the cold wind.
Location. In the alley behind John's bar,
Steven's mother waved a stick and approached the hotel early in the morning - there was a burst of laughter from the store.
interior. In John's bar, early in the morning,
Michael, Nick, Steven, Axel and John are singing. The coin-operated jukebox is playing a western country music, and the volume is turned to maximum. The room was filled with smoke, thick enough to cut it with a long hunting knife. At this moment we saw Stan arguing loudly with a big truck driver about using the pool table. Suddenly, a woman's scream came from the back hall. The door to the alley was swished open, and Steven's mother appeared with a stick. The steel workers glanced at her, each drank their wine, grabbed their helmets, and rushed out. The only exception was Stan, who drew his gun at the truck driver. The stick slammed on the table and chair, and there was a mess of sound! ! !
Location. John's bar, front entrance, early morning
steel workers flocked to the snow, Steven's mother followed closely like a patron saint of revenge, still waving a stick in her hand.
Steven's mother beat them a few times before breaking up, and the beating made a grievance, mixed with the voice of her angrily ordering them to change clothes to attend Steven's wedding.
The camera moves closer to Steven, who appears at the same time as Nick and Michael. The cold woke him up suddenly, and he stopped.
Steven: Boy, it's true. It's true this time. I mean...I'm getting married.
Nick (laughs): Don't think you can breathe a sigh of relief, Steven.
Axel (without expression): Damn it.
They laughed for a while and fell silent. Steven's mother hurriedly left the alley crying.
Steven's mother: My beautiful child! My angel... for a strange girl... a girl who is pregnant with a baby wants to leave her biological mother! (She throws her head into Steven's arms, weeping)
Steven: Mom...
Steven's mother: You are too cruel. Treating your mother in this way, she will celebrate Mass twice a day in her life.
Steven: Mom, it's okay, we live upstairs. We are still a family.
Steven gave Nick and Michael a very embarrassed look. Axel just shrugged his shoulders in a somewhat confusing way. They all made sympathetic gestures, and then pondered the snow flakes.
Steven's mother: Is your heart so cruel? Are you so at ease? You marry this Shi Niang, throw her at me, and then you go to Vietnam?
Steven (almost praying): Fly away once, mother, fly away only once. When I come back, I will live upstairs. (Pause) I love Angela, mother, she loves me too.
Steven's mother (after a moment of silence): Put on a scarf today.
Steven: I don't need a scarf in my dress today. You can’t wear a scarf in a dress!
Location. Michael and Nick’s trailer house. During the day,
the trailer house is a dark silver and white trailer with uneven surfaces. It looks like a third-hand product bought from a construction site. It is located in a small empty field on a cinder block at the corner of a small hill, overlooking the small town and the blast furnace of the rolling mill. A dilapidated truck parked on the right, with a gun rack behind the seat. On the left is a tree with bare branches. The camera moves, showing Michael's black Cady car driving up the hill towards the trailer house. The car skidded and stopped. Michael got out of the car. He was wearing a rented gown, but wearing his own boots, with the rented gown shoes in his hand. At first glance, he is eye-catching in his dress. He climbed the steps of the ballast tile floor and banged on the door of the trailer house violently. Nick opened the door to let him in.
interior. The trailer house
was very crowded during the day and was messy piled up with the dirty things of two single men, but most of them were hunting equipment. A pretty deer head stands above the pool. Nick's dress has only been changed in half, and he is gumming up one of his heavy boots. Michael sat on the edge of the pool with a smile, trying on his rented patent leather shoes.
Nick (laughing): Do you want to dress up as a prince?
Michael: What do you mean by thinking?
Nick shook his head, laughed, and continued to glue his hunting boots.
Michael (pointing to the glue applied): You should have applied the glue last night.
Nick: I know.
Michael: Then the glue will be eaten in.
Nick: Yes, I understand that, Mike. (Pause)
Michael: I'm just waiting, do you understand?
Nick: Uh?
Michael: I'm just waiting. Just for this...this is what I'm waiting for...mountain. That is the only place that makes me feel free. I have been waiting all year.
Nick: I'm also waiting, I think.
Michael (sternly): Are you waiting too?
Nick (nodding): Yes, why on earth...I thought of that, thought of Vietnam.
Nick suddenly removed the gun and began to wipe the oil off the gun.
Michael: Did you really think of it?
Nick: Yes, I don't know... From the face of God, Mike, Steven will be married in two or three hours... I don't know why we even talked about the last hunt before joining the army. The whole thing is nonsense. (Silence, then without a specific goal) Fuck his mother.
Michael: I want to tell you one thing... If I find that my life will end in the mountains, that's fine. (Staring at Nick for a moment) But this has to be in your mind.
Nick: What? A shot?
Michael (smiling): Two shots are waste.
Nick: I don't think about the "one shot" problem that much now, Mike.
Michael (firmly): You have to think about "a shot". A deer must be taken down with one shot. One shot, that's all about it. You try to tell people. They don't listen. (Looking at him carefully) Do you really think of Vietnam?
Nick: I don't know... I guess I'm thinking of deer... I might also think of Vietnam. I have no idea. I have considered both. Damn, I like trees, do you understand? I like the way the trees grow in the mountains, and I also like the different postures of the trees. Sounds like something stupid, right?
Michael (looks at the window): I want to tell you something, Nick. I don't want to go hunting with anyone except you. I like fast-moving and fast guys. I won't go hunting with a stupid donkey.
Nick (laughs): Who is the stupid donkey?
Michael (turns around): Who is the stupid ass? Who do you think is a stupid donkey? They are all stupid donkeys, I mean, they are all amazing people, in the face of God, but... the problem is, Nick, I would rather go hunting alone without your company. Seriously, I would be like this. This is what I want to do.
Nick (laughs): You are such an idiot. Did you know, Mike, you are a wicked monster who loves to control people.
Michael (Biya grinning): I just don't like sudden attacks.
At this moment, there were curses and ping-pong-pong sounds from outside, and Nick opened the door. We see John and Axel, the sturdy man, who is already drunk by this time. These two mischievous and funny characters are wearing narrow rented gowns. They were carrying camping equipment and were knocking on the trunk at the back of the car, trying to open it. Nick and Michael walked out.
Location. Trailer house, daytime
Nick: Axel! Do good deeds... John! Wait a minute, you two guys.
Axel: Can't open the cover.
Michael: You have to play here, here, Axel, not there.
Axel: Where should I play? Point out where I should kick.
Michael: Here, kick here.
Axel slammed open the trunk lid on the back of the car, following where he was pointing.
Axel: Fuck you!
John: Axel, it's a shame that you no longer play for the Steel Workers as you did before. (Speaking dumb, suddenly shuts up)
Axel (try to ignore what I just said): I like Mike's car. Some cars keep breaking down, do you understand? This car, like this car... It's amazing. I mean driving a car like this, you never know where it is heading.
Nick: Yes, it makes me feel safe.
Michael looked at him for a long time. At a loss, Axel held up a can of beer to toast all of them. Stan, also in his tuxedo, stepped forward, dragging a mess of hunting gear behind him. However, unlike the others, the dress he wore was the right size, just like the tailor made for the pool. The leather shoes under his feet are also polished brightly. He is the incarnation of the 1940s band conductor.
Stan: Hi, do me a favor...
John: Hush, hush, hush! Axel intends to carry Mike's Kurdwell on his back.
Axel glanced at his friend. He looked at the back of the car, and then recalled from a dim corner of his memory an old prayer when he was an altar servant. He blessed the car, and he finally washed away the sins of his friends by spilling a burst of beer. After doing this, he straightened his chest and beat with both fists, yelling alternately with false and true voices, which was a terrific ape-like roar that could spread for a mile. When its echo came along the street, the church bell rang, and a group of very excited bridesmaids hurriedly walked over. The rolling mill was at the foot of the hill below them, and Axel leaped towards the Cady sedan and lay down on the car.
First Bridesmaid: Axel, what are you doing?
Bridesmaid: Hurry up, you guys!
Bridesmaid C: Who took the dianthus flower?
Bridesmaid Ding: Right here, right here.
First Bridesmaid (to Axel): Look at you, you are simply confused.
Bridesmaid C: Put on dianthus flowers for him.
First Bridesmaid: Who can do me a favor? My hands are frozen.
The bridesmaids began to arrange the ties for the boys, one of them put a carnation flower on Axel, the second
bridesmaid: Oh my god, there are a million flowers in this cheap dress...Where did you get this thing? ? Look at the holes in the lapel?
Axel (proudly): Fuck you.
Nick heard someone calling his name and turned around to find Linda standing in an unobtrusive place next to the trailer house. She was pale and very scared, carrying a small suitcase in her hand.
Nick (crossing across): Linda...
Linda: Hi. (Laughs bitterly) Nick, your shoes are soaked.
Nick: Linda, what's the matter?
Linda hesitated and stopped. She tried her best to endure, but she shed tears. Nick looked around and pulled her into the trailer house.
interior. In the trailer house,
Nick cleared a spot on the messy couch during the day . Linda sat down, clutching the suitcase between her legs.
Linda (difficultly): I was just thinking about it, Nick... You and Michael... You will join the army with Steven in two or three days... If I can live in this place until some of you come back
Well , because... Nick: Of course you can, are you kidding me? No question!
Linda: I'm going to pay you both... and I've been thinking about—
Nick (kneeling before her): Linda...Hey, Linda!
Linda: No. I want to pay you, Nick...
Nick: Linda, Linda!
Linda (looks at him with clear eyes, very quietly): What?
Nick (as if wanting to say something more): I don't know... The
two looked at each other for a long time, and said nothing, but there was a passion in the eyebrows.
interior. In the church, during the day,
Nick and Linda each raised a wedding crown over the heads of Steven and Angela who were standing face to face. At this time, a loud male chorus resounded like an overwhelming voice, singing the majestic and haunting Russian wedding chorus. .
Priest: May the kingdom of heaven bless...now and forever, for generations to come...
As the priest continues his holy scripture, the camera takes the faces of the audience. We saw familiar faces from the positions of veterans who had participated in foreign wars, and saw the steel workers and their wives coming out of the bar, as well as Steven's mother who sent them home to change clothes. They are not amazing—the faces of the working class—but we felt that there was a kind of fortitude and spiritual consistency among the participants. The music at this moment is very passionate, and it seems impossible to increase its intensity, but it is indeed getting higher and higher.
The camera pointed to Michael, Stan, and Axel in the row opposite to the bridesmaids, and then shot John, who was standing in the choir seat and singing with other men. His loud voice overwhelmed others and seemed to drive the entire choir. The expression in his eyes was indescribable, and tears filled his eyes at the moment.
Michael, Stan, and Axel looked back at John. They were all ragged. Their dresses were suffocatingly narrow, and their shoes were soaked from walking in the snow. Only Stan is amazing, no matter how bad the weather is, his clothes are still neat and tidy.
Nick caught Linda's eyes, they looked like two very surprised children, staring at each other across the intermediary space.
The priest handed the white candlestick to the bride and groom. The camera slowly moved closer to the priest. He is very impressive---mannered, gentle, considerate and full of power. The priest lit the candles one by one, one by one Angela's, then Steven's, and then he looked at the guests gathered together. The emotional waves provoked by the hymns are still rippling in the sky, so when the priest continues to perform the ceremony, we have to try our best to concentrate.
Priest: "Everyone who does bad things is afraid of seeing the light and dare not face the light, lest his actions be condemned."
Location. Church, Starkweather Street, on the top of the mountain,
except for the lonely figure of Linda's father mumbling to himself and walking home with difficulty during the day , the street is deserted and there is only snow in the sky. The sound of music passed through the walls of the church. The voice was so round, so loud, so deep and pure, it sounded so trembling. It passed the large onion dome of the church, passed the small town, and passed the huge black silhouette of the steel mill illuminated by the fire.
interior. At the church, during the day,
Michael, Nick, Stan and Axel and the bridesmaids helped the priest put Steven and Angela on the wedding crown. The priest first put a wedding crown on Angela, and now put it on Steven.
Priest: In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, God's servant Steven and God's servant Angela accept the wedding crown, Amen.
The priest held the hands of the new couple together and led Steven and Angela and the crowd around the altar. The movements are very precise and formal, and the detour symbolizes eternity. Linda and Michael's eyes met. Music gradually developed to an unbearable emotional climax. Michael looked at Linda for a long time. Linda stared at him at first, but then she lowered her eyes.
Location. Starkweather Street, daytime
The newlyweds hurriedly left the church, walked down the steps, and walked towards a waiting car. This was Michael's old black cardi, decorated with colored paper ribbons. People cheered and yelled. When the car drove towards the Lemke Veterans Hall, Michael, Nick, Stan and Axel ran into the street. They followed the car and picked it up slippery and slippery on the ice. Handful of snow, throwing snowballs at the car one by one. Steven and Angela smiled and turned back and waved at them. Apart from all this, everyone got in the car or Nick's truck, or walked towards the reception venue. John looked at the moving attendees from a tall window in the choir building, and watched them march towards the Lemke Veterans Hall on the Snowy Faey Mountain.
interior. The Lemke Veterans Hall, the ballroom, the
ballroom was full of voices during the day . The band was playing frantically, and a pair of old and young dancing partners in the anti-rotation dance laughed. The people serving were all women, and they quickly delivered drinks to the crowded guests. Half of the men are already drunk. We see Steven and Angela, Nick and Linda, Stan, Axel and John. Only Michael in this group did not dance. Michael drank desperately, standing alone on the dance floor, sipping beer swiftly. We immediately realized that he felt out of sync, and it was difficult to naturally join the trend of the venue. Suddenly, the older women all tapped their wine glasses with forks. The knocking sound is very loud and the interval is very short, and Angela and Steven must kiss each time. After Michael finished a can of beer, he squeezed the can and opened another can. When he picked up the second drink, he noticed a gloomy girl sitting behind him against the wall, waiting for someone to invite her to dance. The melancholy girl smiled at Michael. Pretending not to see him, Michael moved behind a pillar and looked up at the high school picture of himself hanging on the stage between the pictures of Nick and Steven.
Now, the older women are singing. At this time, the wedding cake that was transported in the previous scene is taken out. The miniature bride and groom are a bit skewed, but still stand in the middle of the cake. Both Steven's mother and Angela were looking at these two small figures, but Steven didn't notice. The two women walked to the cake tearfully. Suddenly, the crowd moved away, and the two of them stood face to face and smiled at each other---reluctantly, but the smiles gradually unfolded, unfolded, and unfolded. Then, Angela narrowed her smile, took down the little man on the cake, and handed it to Steven’s mother. Her mother looked down at the new couple wrapped in sugar. Then they watched each other and suddenly burst into tears. Throwing into the other's arms, whimpering and sobbing.
interior. Lemke Veterans Hall, the entrance hall,
a pair of men and women who were late during the day could not enter the venue. The coat hanger is already full of coats. They finally squeezed to the door and got in.
interior. Lemke Hall, the
entire venue was actually trembling during the day . At this time, the band was playing polka with the largest volume that Zhu had before. The new man was stopped by John. John stood at the head of the reception team with a big basket full of money and envelopes beside Axel.
The man: What is this?
Axel: You can get a glass of wine, a cigar, and a dance with a beautiful bride for one dollar.
Axel was already shaking a bit, but he firmly grasped a large tray with glasses of whiskey and cigars full of rims. The man first put a dollar in John’s basket, Axel then handed him a glass of wine and a cigar, and then the man took Angela to dance for four seconds, and Angela turned and turned. While showing off her ring to the people beamingly. During this period, we kept seeing drunk men being carried out. Suddenly, the band stopped playing and the band leader spoke loudly to the guests without using the microphone.
Captain of the band: Be quiet! Please be quiet! Please listen to me! Angela and Steven welcome you very much and would like to introduce you to their wedding team, especially Nick and Michael. They also want to go to Vietnam with Steven and proudly play for their homeland!
There was thunderous applause, shouts, and cheers. Under the dazzling lights of Michael, Nick, Axel, Linda, Stan, and John, someone took a group photo of them with a flash. The camera stayed in this moving scene for a while, when the band played "The Stars and Stripes Never Fall".
The retired old soldier took off his hat and pressed it to his chest. At this time, the older woman knocked on the glass again, and Steven and Angela kissed again. After that, the people in the entire wedding party exchanged partners, the music sounded again, and they danced gracefully. Michael has to dance with Nick's girlfriend Linda at the moment, but the way he holds her hand is reluctant. Nick forcefully pushed the two of them onto the dance floor. He passed by John. John stopped him, suddenly embarrassed.
John (in a low, very soft voice): Had it not been for my accident, I would have gone with you guys, Nick.
They stared at each other for a long time. Nick was moved. He held John with his arm upstairs and hugged him tightly, not knowing what to do. The crowd shouted loudly.
We saw Michael dancing with Linda, and they seemed to be separated from the crowd. They looked at each other, her breathing was tense, and he restrained his desires, as if they were isolated from others, only the two of them were together.
Michael: I am not the best dancer.
Linda: Did you dance well?
Michael (after a while uncomfortable, very eagerly): Would you like a beer?
Linda (unexplainably): Of course.
Michael: What kind of beer would you like to drink?
Linda (laughing): I don't know, Michael. I really don't mind. Beer is beer.
Michael: I'll get you a bottle of Miller, Miller beer. This is currently the best.
Michael leaves. When Michael went to the cooler to fetch Miller beer, Linda sat at a table and shook her head in confusion. He fumbled around in the barrel, found a can, and opened it. Suddenly, he saw Nick walking towards the gloomy girl by the wall. He stood in front of the girl and said something to her. The gloomy girl shrugged and stood up. Nick took her arm and started dancing. The girl seems to be a different person. She started talking and smiling like everyone else. Michael walked back to Linda and handed her Miller beer. When he pulled a chair and sat down beside her, he tripped and almost lost his balance. We noticed for the first time that he was so drunk, which surprised us.
Michael: I'm sorry.
Linda (laughs): It's nothing, Mike. This is a wedding. You should have fun...joy. You know...
Nick and the gloomy girl swayed and jumped over. He made a dramatic exaggeration and smiled and skipped the picture.
Michael (captures Linda's expression): I guess you really love Nick...
Linda (nods): Yes.
Michael didn't speak for a moment. It seems that he is trying to restrain the climax of his emotions. He raised his head again and looked at his high school picture hanging next to Nick's picture. The photos are very large, weird but very touching.
interior. In the entrance hall, the
coat hangers were still full of fashionable coats in the evening . A pair of young people concealed between their coats, embracing and kissing passionately. They squeezed the clothes rack slightly trembling and shaking, the music at this time was soft, but there was still a feverish energy.
The front door opened, and a young U.S. Army Special Forces sergeant stepped into the dim entrance hall. He is wearing a green uniform and a green beret. Wearing a row of battle medals on his chest, his skydiving boots were polished like a mirror. The sergeant shook his head and walked towards the bar area.
interior. In the bar area, the
sergeant in the evening passed between a group of guests still celebrating, took a can of beer from a refrigerator, and sat alone at the end of a white shelf table, which was stacked randomly. Food and waste. He watched Angela dance without expression.
Akehan suddenly let out a roar like Tarzan, and lifted the bridesmaid who had worn the carnation flowers above his head and walked around in a circle. She had been cutting the ribbon on the gift just now, and when he suddenly lifted her into the air, she was still holding the scissors in her hand.
Bridesmaid: Axel, what are you doing! Axel! If you don't put me down, I will poke you with this pair of scissors!
Axel: I want to kiss you. One must either find a woman or go to war!
At this time, Stan was standing with John. Stan was furious because his girlfriend was dancing with someone else.
Stan: Do you know what that bitch is doing? That brat is pinching her ass!
John: This is just a wedding, Standley.
Stan: What do you mean, it's just a wedding? That guy does...look! He did it again! Johnny, I'm going to take my gun out of my coat, I'm going to shoot him! I will kill him now.
Stan said as he stepped forward and patted the man on the shoulder. The man let go of Stan's girlfriend. The girl waited, with a hand on her waist. Stan abruptly, maliciously knocked her to the ground with his left elbow. Stan jumped up and down at this moment and yelled. The man ran away quickly when he was scolded. Stan then patted his still neat hair again and smoothed it carefully.
interior. In the bar area,
Nick, Steven, and Michael stood together in the evening staring at the young retired sergeant. Their eyes expressed the highest awe and respect they could show in the current situation.
Michael: That guy just came back.
Nick: Yes.
Michael: He looks like a big killer. Did you see the Hun watch on his left chest?
Michael motioned with his head, and Nick and Steven walked over with him.
Michael: We, ah... we are going to the paratroopers too.
The sergeant looked at them with a blank sneer.
Sergeant: Damn it.
Michael: What?
The sergeant was still smiling.
Michael (to Nick): What did he say?
Nick: He said "fuck".
Michael: "Fuck"?
Nick: "Is he?"
Michael: I think he said that.
Steven nodded.
Nick (clearing his throat): Hmm... well, maybe you can tell us what's going on there?
Sergeant: Damn it.
Michael looked at Nick, and Nick looked at Steven. They all laughed, but a little disturbed.
Michael (to Sergeant): Yes, then, thank you very much.
Sergeant: You are welcome.
They turned and walked away, and when they reached a place where people couldn't hear them, they couldn't help laughing hoarse. Akehan came over, sweating profusely, and the back of his shirt was torn apart.
Axel: Who is he?
Michael: The ghost knows!
Axel: Did he come from somewhere nearby?
Michael: The ghost knows!
Axel: So, where did he come from?
Michael and Steven (in unison): Ghosts know!
Michael (quietly): Maybe he is lost.
Axel: Let's go to his side!
interior. On the stage, the
guests gathered around the dance in the evening . Everyone was drunk holding ribbons and rice bags. When Steven and Angela appeared on the stage, there was a clamor and cheers. Angela threw out the bouquet, and Linda caught it. Then the drummer beat the drum, and the other musicians started to play. Ribbons and rice grains were spilled. Advice and encouragement were heard everywhere. Steven and Angela walked to the front of Steven’s mother. Badly used the wine for the Double League Cup Festival and handed them to them.
Steven's mother: If you don't spill it at all, you will be lucky for the rest of your life!
Steven and Angela drink together. There was a cheering sound. Nick turned to Linda and spoke to her unexpectedly, as if to say something else—
Nick: Will you marry me?
Linda blushed, surprised by Nick's question.
Linda (after a long time): Okay.
Nick: What did you say?
Linda nodded—nodded solemnly.
Nick: Will you? I mean, if we come back from..., I mean, when we come back. I don't know what I want to say.
Linda: I guess, just say what you think in your heart.
Linda's lips trembled, tears filled her eyes, and she tried to nod gently.
Nick: Seriously?
Linda: Seriously!
Nick stared at her. He couldn't believe what she said just now.
Nick: Great!
Linda: That's great.
Nick nodded. Linda was suddenly excited, glowing with happiness. She dropped the bouquet and threw herself into Nick's arms.
Linda (closed eyes, caressingly): I don't know what we are waiting for!
Nick: I don't know, I don't know either.
He took a deep breath to calm himself down. Linda smiled nervously. Afterwards, their eyes met when Steven and Angela just finished drinking the wine.
A small drop of wine spilled on Angela's white wedding dress (only we noticed this).
At this moment, the women all sang. Steven picked Angela, jumped off the stage, ran across the hall, and ran straight to Mike's car waiting outside. The singing of the women became louder.
Location. Lemke Veterans Hall, front gate, evening
John, Axel and Michael are standing by the door. Their extremely unfit rented gown was dirty and torn. Their dianthus flowers were squashed, some of the bow ties that were pinned up with pins were completely dropped, and some were dangling around the neckline of their shirts. Surprisingly, several of them were still drinking beer. Only Stan still looked as if he hadn't lost his temper, as he did when he first came in, not even a single piece of hair messed up. He turned to Michael, blinked at him, and laughed...
Michael (looking at Angela): Nonsense! All nonsense!
Stan: Do you want to bet?
Michael: Nonsense, you are full of nonsense.
Stan: How much is it? How much do you want to bet? Tell the number.
Michael: Fuck you, Stan.
Steven and Angela struggled to squeeze into the car, the noise and applause became more intense, and streamers and rice grains fell all over the sky. John helped Angela get into the car. Axel and Nick put their arms around Steven and led him to the driver's seat. A large string of empty cans (Note 2) is tied to the back of the car.
Nick: Don't care what Stan says...
Steven: I know.
Nick: Forget it, forget what Stan said. He is a dumb man.
Steven (whispering to Nick): I really never did that with Angela, Nicky...
Nick: That's great, that's great.
Steven: That's a real secret in my life, Nick...
Nick (covering his surprise): Nothing. nothing. Just... forget it.
Steven: What will happen to a child! (People gather around) By the time she has a baby... what should I do?
Nick: That's Angela's business. Let Angela take care of all this...keep calm.
Steven: Keep calm?
Nick: Just stay calm!
Nick just hugged Steven tightly. Steven got into the car.
Nick: Hey, don't be so sad. do not worry. See you on the train on Monday.
Steven: Okay, see you on Monday.
interior. In the car,
Steven looked at Angela at night .
Steven: Are you okay, baby?
Angela nodded. Steven put into gear and the car moved slowly. People knocked the car with their fists. Rice grains and streamers fell on the car like a shower. Suddenly, through the windshield in front of the car, I saw Michael naked, with his right hand holding up a fluttering colored paper ribbon running in front of the car. All of a sudden, Steven couldn't believe his eyes. He glanced at Anguo. Angela covered her mouth in astonishment, and quickly honked her horn.
Location. On the street, in the evening,
Michael moved back and forth in front of the roaring car sliding, and the empty cans behind the car jumped around. He was almost not running, but sprinting and jumping, as if he had entered a pure space realm under weightlessness.
Axel (looking blankly, almost talking to himself): Fuck...
Nick, Axel, Stan and John followed the car and walked staggeringly on the high and low streets. superior. Axel took Michael's clothes and stumbled forward in the mud. He tripped and fell and made a fuss. His clothes were thrown all over the street.
All: Look at that! asshole!
Axel (screaming): Stinky shit!

street bifurcation. One side road leads to a dilapidated basketball court high above. The court is set on a cliff overlooking the steel mill; the other side road leads down to Steven’s mother’s house. Leading to the steel mill below the mountain. Michael ran from the slope to the basketball court on the mountain. At this time, the car drove down and disappeared at the corner leading to Steven's mother's house.
Axel, Stan, and John climbed halfway up the mountain, swaying to a halt, panting involuntarily. Stan managed to wipe the mud and snow off his shoes. Nick walked to the top of the mountain.
Location. Basketball court, evening
When Nick stepped forward, Michael slipped on a basketball hoop, stabbed to the frozen mud, stayed there motionless, looking at the blast furnace standing in the steel mill. The night was bright and clear, and the flames of the blast furnace shot in and emitted a weird and terrible red light, illuminating the sky. The dogs around are barking and roaring.
Nick slipped a few steps and stopped a few feet away from the basketball hoop. At this moment, the barking of the dog is getting louder and louder.
Nick: Michael?
Michael rolled over. His face was green with a strange expression of indifference. He smiled wildly at Nick.
Michael: I must be a fucking dizzy head. At my age... everything becomes too fast. Do you think we will come back after all?
Nick (started, horrified): From Vietnam?
Michael: Yes.
Nick helped Michael up and let him stand by his side. He took off his tuxedo and wrapped Michael in it. The two of them shrank into a ball under the basket frame reflected in the moonlight, and the red light of the blast furnace flickered. Neither of them knew what to say.
Nick (suddenly), did you know? Everything in the world is here. I like this damn place...I know it sounds like crazy. But if something happens, Mike, don't leave me there. I mean don't leave me behind...you have to assure me, Mike.
Michael (shaking all over, smiling but not smiling): Nick ---
Nick: You must swear, solemnly.
Michael: Okay, I swear. Buddy.
Nick let out a sigh of relief... as if he was relieved of a heavy burden.
Michael (smiles): Let's go hunting tonight. Right now. I mean, we have to keep moving before we have to get on that train to Dix’s check-in station...
outside scene. On the highway, in the evening,
Michael’s dilapidated 1959 shark-fin Cadillac car drove over quickly. Some wedding ribbons glued to the door handles and bumpers rustled in the wind.

Nick, Michael, Stan, Axel and John. They are still wearing rented gowns, and they are so drunk that they have lost their minds. They were in the car, squeezed between backpacks, sleeping bags, six barrels of beer and deer guns piled high. Nick and Michael sang the "Song of the Howling Eagles Flying".
Nick and Michael (singing): The eleventh disciple of Jesus descended from the sky, Gronimo shouted...!
Stan: What are you singing?
John: It's "The Flying Song of the Howling Eagles".
Stan: It looks like a donkey!
Axel: Get out! (Sing in a sweet high voice) Set me free! Set me free! If...you...can set me free...you will always be happy...with me!
John looked at Axel and smiled slightly.
John (sounding like a trumpet): Wow — — Wow — Wow! ...Wow wow wow wow wow!

moment of dawn , Nick bends down and sits in front of the steering wheel, his eyes blank. Michael and John were dozing off, while Axel and Stan were half-awake and babbled in a lazy voice due to excessive drinking.
Axel: Did Angela do it with you?
Stan: She worked with me in Steven's car over the garage during the New Year's Eve party.
Axel (seriously): She did it with me too.
Stan (surprised): She has done it with you?
Axel: Fuck her mother.
There was an embarrassing pause, and both of them desperately opened their eyes.
Stan (surprisingly): Steven doesn't know that she and both of us have worked...
Axel: He doesn't know.
Stan: Maybe it's the kid of either of us... the shameless woman... it's all the same.
Axel (shaking his head): Damn it.

Nick volts below the outer edge of the steering wheel. One eye is closed, and the other eye is open that looks almost like the eyes of a dead man. Suddenly, he raised his head abruptly and stepped on the brakes with one foot. The rear of the car shook, the wheels squeaked and made a sharp noise, and then slipped to a halt.
Everyone in the car was awakened-ten fuzzy eyes looked out through the windshield.
A big stag stood in the middle of the road, standing motionless under the strong light of the car's headlights.
Stan: My goodness!

Stan: It's a bitch! Kill it! For God's sake, who will kill it!
John: Who has ammunition?
Axel: Ammunition, bring ammunition!
Stan: I'll get it! Where is it?
John: In the back of the car!
Axel: Not here!
John: Right in the back, Axel! It's in the suitcase! Listen to me, the ammunition is in the suitcase!
Stan, Axel, and John bypassed the car and rushed to the trunk. Axel kicked, slipped and fell to the ground. Stan yelled at him.
Axel: Stanley, you can't hit anything anyway.
Stan, Axel, and John are like lunatics. You push me and squeeze me in the suitcase to search for weapons.
Michael squinted at Nick, then slipped out of the car with his rifle. He looked at the others with an expression of disgust--and then looked at the deer. The deer froze under the dazzling light. Still watching quietly. If there is a reaction, it is that it gradually moves forward, and its restrained curious expression makes Michael fall into inexplicable fury.
Michael: Get out of here, damn you, go home! ...Go away! ...Shhh!
Michael's gun is ready, he pushes a bullet into it and fires a shot over the deer. Suddenly, the deer fled in panic.
Michael: Hurry up! Go away, go! Get out!
At this time, everyone else gathered together and watched Michael watch the deer disappear in the snow. They all thought that he must be drunk and actually forgot the purpose of the hunt.

Nick (Stan's beer splashes him all over): Watch out, daredevil!
Stan (beats Nick on the shoulder): Here! This is it! This is where we stayed last year.
Axel: Not here!
John: Still ahead, Stan.
Stan: No way, it's here!
Nick stopped the car on the side of the road disgustedly.
