It's a pity that a cross-age critical movie

Every era has its limitations. Even the United States, which is the world leader in democracy and rule of law, still has system flaws. Once a great man (forgot who it is) said: "If there is a better system, I will definitely not Will choose democracy.” This sentence praises democracy while also showing its own natural flaws. The rule of law extended by democracy remains the same. Seeing the beginning of the film, I thought that the film would directly face the system's flaws like Shawshank's Salvation, Prison Situation and other films, which eventually evoked reflection. After watching the film, it was really disappointing to see the reflections, and I was eager to come out, but was still dead, and finally turned into an inexplicable family theme movie, which is really disappointing.
5 stars in the first half and 1 star in the end.
I thought that by the time the municipal building was bombed, the story was only halfway through. I thought that the director would eventually produce a profound film that would reflect on the American judicial system. I thought that the clues of the outstanding prosecutors were only part of the 10-year preconspiracy of the spy male protagonist. , I thought that the male protagonist would let excellent prosecutors violate human rights, violate the law but can punish the crime and know who the criminal is, but because there is no evidence, in order to respect the judicial system and let the male protagonist get away with justice (such as the Simpson case in the United States) Choice.
However, this result made me even more convinced that there is also political correctness in the United States (the black must be the righteous party and must be the ultimate winner; personal anti-government behavior is impossible to succeed), and that American movies are also the result of compromise. The American judicial system can be questioned, but its foundation cannot be touched.
Finally, what I want to say is that maybe because I watched the first half of the movie, I had too much expectations for this movie, so I went online, but my feeling at this time is indeed that the works of an era cannot be separated from it. Due to the limitations of an era, films released in the United States must not arouse the masses' dissatisfaction with their country. So we got an anticlimactic disability movie.

The climax part is very exciting and exciting, but after reading it, I feel that the head and tail parts are a bit eclipsed, lacking a little big scene, the plot is still very rigorous, and several obvious logics are handled perfectly. The revenge is devil.

How insidious is this movie's wolf ambition against the plea bargaining system! It's a pity that the suspense ingredient is too bloody, and I barely recommend it to four stars.

Law Abiding Citizen quotes

  • Nick Rice: [to Clyde softly while he sits in a confinement cell] What I'm about to tell you I don't want anybody else to hear. As a prosecutor, I'm breaking all the rules right now, and I don't give a damn because I'm a father. I have a little girl. And what you did... bravo. The world is better without Darby and Ames. You're not gonna see a tear shed from me or anybody in my office. With that being said... I have a job to do.

  • Nick Rice: [standing in front of him with his arms crossed] The only problem with your theory is that Darby's body was found on your property.

Clyde Shelton: One of my many properties. An old abandoned warehouse, Nick. Junkies, they trespass there all the time. Isn't Darby involved in the drug trade? That's an unsavory world. I bet you a jury would agree. Or perhaps someone was trying to frame me.

Nick Rice: You know, Clyde, there's a lot of assholes in prison that thought they were smarter than me. Let's stop fucking around.

Clyde Shelton: Nick, unless you have any hard evidence, then why are we even here? Why are we having this conversation?

Nick Rice: What do you want?

Clyde Shelton: Well, that's easy. Now you're the one who makes deals with murderers, yeah? So I've come to make mine. I will give you a confession, a real confession. You just have to give me something in return.

Nick Rice: Yeah, well, since you are a murderer, what might that be?

Clyde Shelton: A bed. But a nice bed. I want a nice new one for my cell. Very simple. You're gonna have to deal with that, because the one I have is lumpy, Nick. It's making me crazy.

Nick Rice: [after laughing at his request] I think you got confused with detail people. See, I don't deal with prison conditions.
