Let the real psychologist speak

I have read a lot of film reviews and want to find some explanation, the more I look at it, the more boring I get. Think about it, I am a professional. Why not write it yourself? You can’t write the long one, so let’s write the short one first.

1 No one mentions the period when betty auditioned. The recommender said that you have to feel it in order to perform. As soon as the camera turned, the sitting women were very embarrassed and unhappy, as if he had said something that violated social norms.
Analysis: Diane was lured and violated by her elders without her knowledge. She even worked hard to cooperate (practicing her lines, she was excited to audition). Confusion over whether it is hurt or love is common among children who are victims of incest. The opponent actor who auditioned said that acting is reacting is also full of sexual meaning: I am not interested if you are not attractive. This "Use" mentality is also common among sexual offenders who like to materialize objects. As for the old lady who helped select the actors, the referrer also said that she was "experienced" but "can't afford it," but she had a vicious eye for the role selection. If DIane's injury experience is valid, then in her heart, the female elder actually acquiesced in the violation, and even Diane believes that the female elder is also an accomplice. Of course, after failing to ask for help (not necessarily a direct one), Diane must have such an impression that even if the female elder opposed it, she at least condoned the abuse. In real life, the aggressor’s partner often becomes angry with the victim, and sometimes even thinks that the other party is a rival in love.

2 At the beginning, someone mentioned the weird smiles of the old couple in the car at the airport. One thing to add is that DIane is full of resentment towards them, so in her dream Betty looked like she was innocent and ignorant. She thought she had met a good companion and volunteered to "help" them.

3 Projective identification. In dreams, there are often things that change roles with reality.

4 The prostitute section was very interested, but I didn't want to understand it, and I didn't find a suitable explanation.

5 The waitress in the restaurant is also called Betty, which does not mean that Diane wants to start all over again. It may be when she thinks of herself young and full of energy and passion. For her, that's who she really is, so she appeared in that image in her dream.

6 The old man and old lady at the end does not represent conscience. If you say that it represents conscience, you must read some Freund’s articles and then you will open up psychoanalysis. After you learn a concept of the superego, you can use it casually.
The old man and old lady at the end means that Diane finally failed to transcend the trauma of childhood. Originally came to Hollywood to find dreams, thinking that he could get rid of the childhood reality of that tooth and claws, but the dream was broken and the devil came back again.

This is a total tragedy. Too sad that it can only be presented in a dream. Thanks Lynch, thank you for your compassion.

I want to give it one star. This is really a boring movie. Thanks to my insistence on watching it, there is not much horror and no suspense. David Lynch just played a trick, and the previous two hours have nothing to do with it. The plot is completely flickered with a "dream". After all, this is edited with the material of a TV series, which can only be so cute.

Thought it would be a big conspiracy, but in fact it was just a dream. There is no horror, suspense, horror, high IQ, but if you have loneliness and helplessness in your heart, you are willing to do it again. When you think back to the first 3/4 of the movie as beautiful as the original plot but just a dream, you really wake up lonely. Help regret wishing to come back to the top. Sometimes when I wake up from dreams, it is the same, and that feeling can't be explained in words, it's all in my heart.

Mulholland Drive quotes

  • Vincent Darby: I think you're going to enjoy your espresso this time. I've done quite a bit of research, knowing how hard you are to please. This one comes highly recommended.

  • Jimmy 'Woody' Katz: Just tell me where it hurts, baby.
