Don’t look back, follow the rules of the world

It is said that the first and last three episodes of "The Godfather" were shot for 18 years, and the reviews on this book and this movie are already full of sweat. The classics of gangster movies and Jianghu movies should be none other than it-the recent "Infernal Affairs" seems to have a tendency to rafters. The fascinating story is due to the charm of the original book. The music in it is now spread more than the movie itself. I can only talk about the performance of the actors. The old godfather played by Marlon Brando is always a somewhat inattentive and cynical gentleman style-he no longer needs to use external violence and coercion, his chaotic and unclear voice, every word can be changed The outside world can cause chaos in the world. This may be the so-called arresting place of the old man-everything is under control. He doesn't even need someone's return, as long as others recognize him as the godfather and accept his friendship. This is entirely the mentality of a strong person, the pinnacle of self-realization. In this regard, it is not difficult for us to understand why so many so-called successful people/wealth elites in today's world like to show them in a friendly and demonstrative way. Men just need people to worship as gods. For this illusion, they do everything they can to. I still like Bill Gates’ answer, why am I so rich? Perhaps, it is the luck that God gave me. Therefore, I think Marlon Brando's performance is too real, maybe this is his true color. Mike, played by Pacino, has grown from an innocent war hero and good young man to a vicious and sinister new godfather, and his performance is also very hierarchical. When he watched the false condolences of other gang bosses coldly at the funeral of the old godfather, his sullen eyes seemed to be chilling-he had already decided, everything is under control, everything can't be turned back, and everything should be done in accordance with the rules of the rivers and lakes. I also saw this look in Fa Ge's "Shanghai Beach". Perhaps, when a man decided to unscrupulously become the strongest in the world of the weak and the strong, he approached the man's primitive animal nature.

Imdb's second-ranked movie is said to be the "Man's Bible". The use of light in the whole film is excellent, the plot is wonderful, the soundtrack is unique, and the exquisite lines are countless. The two leading roles of Marlon Brando and Al Pacino are even more impeccable. However, due to my relatively shallow experience, many connotations are still to be explored~ (9.0/10)

As a metaphor for the transition between the old and the new in the capitalist world of the 20th century, it is too appropriate and fascinating. Completely surrendered to Marlon Brando, but didn't feel much about Pacino's acting skills. The peak light, epic soundtrack, and impeccable editing of several classic passages. The natural image elements still conceal the discomfort of the three perceptions of the so-called "men's bible". But frankly speaking, it failed to reach the point of rewriting the history of private movies.

The Godfather quotes

  • [Paulie enters the Corleones' study]

    Sonny: What is it?

Clemenza: Hey, Paulie, I thought I told you to stay put.

Paulie Gatto: The guy at the gate says there's a package.

Sonny: Yeah? Hey, Tessio, go see what it is.

Paulie Gatto: You want me to hang around?

Sonny: Yeah, hang around. You all right?

    Paulie Gatto: [coughing] Yeah, yeah...

Sonny: You hungry? There's a little food in the ice box.

    Paulie Gatto: Nah, nah.

Sonny: Well, how about a drink? Some brandy, it'll sweat it out of ya. Alright, babe...

    [Paulie leaves]

Sonny: [to Clemenza] I want you to take care of that sonofabitch right away. Paulie sold out the old man, that stronz. I don't want to see him no more. I want you to make that first thing on your list, understand?

    Clemenza: Understood.

  • Don Corleone: [crying, staring at Sonny's body] Look how they massacred my boy!
