Family first

I found it in the genre of comedy, but he should be considered a literary and family film.
Before watching him wake up, it was a tragedy. At the moment he was begging his son to go on vacation, he was completely awakened, but his life came to an abrupt end.
But he woke up and found that it was all a dream. After a lifetime of tragedy, he was born again.
Proust has a saying: "People never know what they want, because there is only one life, you can't compare with anything."
He has been stubbornly pursuing his career. There is nothing wrong with it, but he ignored his family because of this. Man’s energy is always limited. His choice is like this. It seems that there is nothing wrong, but it turns out to be wrong. His wife is divided with him, and his father died in grief.
Is it just a wrong choice? Let’s stop discussing work and think more about our family members. Of course, we don’t just abandon our careers, but we just don’t isolate the people around us.
This seems to be a theoretical balance between family and career.
In fact, the movie describes more when he presses the fast forward button? Why should he skip these, eager to do what he wants to do, let meaningless quarrels, eat, make love, wait for the promotion to pass, he has filtered a lot of life, some of what he wants.
The remote control is our wish, what we don't want to do, it's annoying. . . Get rid of it all, as long as there is the best moment in life. .
But here is the problem. .
Our desire is always ideal to completely invert the essence of life. The little things in life that we can ignore are actually life. To abandon him is to abandon life. I think of "Mary and Marx" saying: People have to accept their own shortcomings, because He is part of us. It should be understood here as "You have to accept life’s troubles, depressions, and misfortunes, because he is part of us.
Even though you are grumpy and dissatisfied with life, even if your situation is very bad, you have to face it. Work hard to overcome it. If you are still willing to live, share the joy of life, and have a happy family and a satisfactory job, you don't want to press any fast forward button anymore, you will miss it once you press it.
Why can't we comprehend like the hero at the end of the plot?
We have not experienced other tragedies, we have not lost anything because of this, we have no uneasy feelings because of it, we don’t know that we have done something wrong, we don’t understand ourselves, we don’t know what family affection is, we don’t know the meaning of life, We don’t know what our future is. We don’t know anything about it.
In short, we don’t know anything about our lives.
If you don't know what you need most, then you watched this film for nothing.
Always raise the question to the philosophical level,
but I can't regard him as a recreational domestic film with a smile without leaving a trace.
He really affected me

  • Donna Newman: Don't get mad at Peanut just because he found your Twinkie stash.

Michael Newman: Who's Peanut? Where's Sundance?

Donna Newman: [whispers] Don't mention Sundance! The kids just stopped crying.

Michael Newman: About what? Why? What happened?

[Donna looks at him confused, then Michael realizes that Sundance has died]

    Michael Newman: He died?

    [starts to cry]

Michael Newman: Oh no, no, oh no, the stupid idiot and soft fur.

Donna Newman: [to the kids] Daddy held it in so long.

Michael Newman: He was the best dog!

Donna Newman: And now he's letting himself feel it.

Michael Newman: [crying] One night when the duck's head was off, he tried to hump my leg, and I didn't let him, and I should've! And I'm sorry! What an idiot.

    Donna Newman: It's okay.

  • [In the far future, Michael is confronted with kids that don't respect him anymore, a wife that has moved on without him and the breaking point - the treehouse that he had started building for the kids years ago remains unfinished]

Michael Newman: No. No. Ten years, you're not finished yet?

    [screaming into the heavens]

Michael Newman: Morty! Why did you do this to me?

Morty: [suddenly appearing] You did this to yourself, Michael.

Michael Newman: No. No, I didn't wanna waste all that time. I didn't wanna lose Donna!

Morty: The remote goes by your behavior. Every time there was a conflict between work and home, work won!

    Michael Newman: No, not true!

Morty: Lie to your wife! Lie to yourself. But you cannot lie to the remote. The remote is lie-proof, so you can't change what already happened. But you're still a young man. A young, fat man. You could win Donna back.

Michael Newman: So that's what I'll do.

    Morty: Go for it, tubbs.
