Probably the Coen brothers are from Mississippi. Because the director took us on a trip to Mississippi, We appreciate Mississippi's customs all over. (The English spoken by the actors in the play has a strong Mississippi accent). The
movie is full of ridicules about world affairs, but these are just ridicules (by no means ridicule), and this is what I think is a movie The theme of is just the basis for being funny.
First, I ridiculed religion. A blind black man played the role of God, pointed out the way to hide the treasure for the three protagonists who escaped from prison, and told them the future destiny. (Later one by one will be fulfilled. .) I think this is just the director’s rigorous method of "Othello", with a little cold humor. (God is an ordinary black farmer)
Afterwards, the three protagonists encountered a group of piety singing American folk songs and taking a holy bath on their way to escape. After taking a bath, the two protagonists were told that they had no sins. (Various sins, once washed?)
Secondly, they teased the U.S. police. As the three protagonists of fugitives, although the movie did not explicitly tell What crimes we and they committed, but judging from their words and deeds, they must have committed minor crimes such as petty theft. However, the police did not hesitate to use extreme practices such as arson, seduction, and torture in order to hunt them down.
Finally, they teased the United States. People’s political life. (Needless to say, just look at the funny performances of the two campaigning politicians in the
movie .) The music in the movie is very exciting and diverse. (Black blues, American folk, country music. { Mississippi was originally the "cradle of blues music"}) is a highlight of the
film. There are many things in the film about American movies, history, and political life. It is really hard to read and understand if it is not an American. (I admit, this is indeed To some extent, it reduces my movie-watching pleasure.) The following are my views on the details of some of the movies.
1 In the movie, the marshal who frantically hunted down the three protagonists, dressed up, his words and deeds were simply a replica of the colonel in "Apocalypse Now" who wanted to "blow Vietnam back into the Stone Age".
2 The "baby face Nelson" in the movie There are indeed people in American history, and later joined the Di Linjie Gang (that is, the "Public Enemy Number One" played by Johnny Depp in the movie). Shortly after Di Linjie's death, he was listed as the "Public Enemy Number One", in 1934 , Was killed in a gun battle with the FBI.
The movie has a big disadvantage, that is, the structure is too loose, so loose that you sometimes feel that the plot is simply not coherent. (The main
reason is that the two brothers played too much.) But in general, this is still a good movie. , A very funny and sincere work.
