Put a bird on your shoulder to pay tribute to Alfred Hitchcock

I was very patient to watch the 136-minute North By Northwest. I thought it would be a bit boring, after all, it was an old movie from 1959. However, as the opening music progressed, I began to realize that this film must be worthy of his title of The Master of Suspense. Sure enough, I slowly sank in, as if falling towards a sponge. Oh no, it's a bouncing bed, thrilling and fascinating.

I want to admire this work that incorporates almost all shooting techniques, and the units are continuous and jumping.

Close up close-up

shots of the actor Cary Grant often appear, he has handsome edges and corners. Therefore, the judges were also particularly worried about what happened to Roger in the show. A Russian spy who was targeted by a Russian spy and mistakenly regarded as a member of the FBI did not exist. The "Mr. Keplin" fabricated by the Intelligence Agency.

Medium shots

are usually used in Hollywood blockbusters when shooting men. Oh, the medium and close shots stay at the waist, making the man in the lens look taller.

When

several gentlemen were talking in the bar, the picture frame was above their knees. The meaning is the same as the medium shot.

The POV shot

actor drove after being filled with a large glass of bourbon and it was a very exciting segment. We can only see the surroundings through his eyes under the light of the car's headlights. The black water slapped against the reefs, the extremely narrow coastal roads, oncoming cars, and the adversaries following behind create a terrifying scene. I'm afraid that he will have an accident if he is not careful. Our hearts are held tightly by the subjective lens used by Hitchcock.

And we can interestingly note that the heroine Eve is often presented to everyone through a glance in Roger's eyes. This is implicit and secretive. Blonde girl, exquisite cloud clothing, such a characteristic female body is also a trick to capture the audience's eyes.

shot/reverse shot

The front and back lens is used in the conversation between two people. Roger&Eve talked happily while dining in the train car. This kind of technique creates a sweet atmosphere for them. The world is quiet, and the only uneasy thing is the quietly growing love in the two worlds.

When long shot

Roger was waiting for something unexpected in the desolate suburbs and he thought it was the real "Mr. Keplin", the movie showed a panoramic view of more than 50 seconds. Seeing the bus coming from far away, we are all anxious. Is that "Kaiplin"? As a result, the roar of the bus and the shadow of the car gradually made us disappointed and looked forward to again and again.

The master of suspense also captures the audience's psychological activities well and makes use of them.

The extreme shot

now comes to the final scene, where the two sides are fighting on a rock engraved with stone statues of successive US presidents. A big panorama, with the widest perspective. At one end of the rock, the hero and heroine are crawling down. And they can't see it, the chaser is diagonally above. We saw it in this big panorama, and I was really nervous for them.

Finally, the hero saves the beauty. Roger pulls Eve up from the cliff, and the camera turns, he is pulling her up in the train carriage, my dear wife.

It turns out that reading movies is an interesting thing. I hope I have the courage to love movies. I want to put a bird on my shoulder to pay tribute to HITCHCOCK.
