Choose to die again

The protagonist in the film-Tim Thomas, made two life and death decisions. Both times, he chose to die.

The first time was after a car accident. In that car accident, due to Tim's fault, seven lives were killed, including his wife. For this, he has been condemning himself and living in deep pain. In order to repay his sins, he chose to sacrifice himself-donating his organs to 7 people who are worthy of help. And this choice directly means his own death.

Except for discovering that one of the intended recipients is a liar, and then looking for another person, the donation plans of the remaining 6 people are all proceeding smoothly. Until he met the heroine in the film-Emily Posa.

According to the plan, Tim will donate his heart to Emily. However, Tim and Emily fell in love. Because of love, Emily, who has been running out of time, hopes to continue to live. Because of love, Tim, who is desperate for death, hopes to marry Emily and have children. Tim hesitated, he wanted to live now, he wanted to have a future with Emily.

Thus, Tim once again faced a life-or-death decision. He rushed to the hospital and found Emily's attending doctor. He wanted to know if Emily could survive if he didn't transplant his heart to Emily. the answer is negative. There is only one heart, which means that either Tim or Emily, one of them must die. The decision is in Tim's hands.

Tim chose to die again. What's different from last time is that last time he died for redemption, this time he died for love.

At this point, the movie finally tells a complete story about atonement, life inheritance and love.

It takes a lot of courage to choose a death. Choosing to die twice requires greater courage. Tim's courage is really impressive.

Maybe this is not a movie suitable for watching on Christmas Eve, but it allowed me to spend a Christmas Eve full of love.

  • Ezra Turner: [Last lines] You must be Emily. It's so nice to meet you.

  • Ben Thomas: The first time I ever saw a box jellyfish, I was twelve. Our father took us to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I never forgot what he said... That it was the most deadly creature on earth. To me it was just the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.
