I once had such a dream

I remember when I was very young, my grandfather and I were walking on the school playground, and then I looked up and suddenly saw a star in the sky doing irregular movements. It went up and down and left and right. I was very excited, and grandpa was too. Said that he had never seen such a star. I know it is not a star, nor an airplane.

I used to buy "UFO Exploration" every issue, and I also like to watch "Mysteries", and I am interested in all kinds of unsolvable mysteries. I still remember discussing the theory of relativity with my classmates on the way out of school. How did I get it after reaching the speed of light? Don’t talk, I still remember that we were discussing some wonderful topics such as UFO, predicting the future, superpowers and so on on the flat ground behind the school gymnasium. I remember that we also said at the time that “what can’t happen if the universe is too big”.

Today, I think of a wish of my childhood: to buy an astronomical telescope. Today, I think of my childhood dream: to be an astronomer. I think of it today and I will forget it tomorrow.

I used to have longing for all unknowns, but now I can only feel that all longings are unknowns.

But at least, I had such a dream once.

As a person who still seriously considers the possibility of becoming an astronomer, although he is extremely impatient with Zemeckis-style Hollywood goods, most of it can still evoke a little emotional resonance. It can be seen that Carl Sagan's original work must be very ambitious. It is hard to say that the film has made depth. Of course, this is a very alternative science fiction film or even a literary film. It is indeed not easy to make a good one. Hollywood's orthodox production methods in the 90s were really boring.

The beauty of the universe is astonishing, and the atheist must be given a star!

  • Ellie Arroway: What I meant to say is that the message was written in the language of science. Now if it had been religious in nature it should have taken form of a burning bush or a big booming voice from the sky.

Palmer Joss: But a voice from the sky is exactly what you found, Dr Arroway!

  • Dr. Kent Clark: Uh... These are government-owned telescopes, they can lease them to whomever they want. And they don't want the high priestess of the desert using them anymore.

    Ellie Arroway: What?

Dr. Kent Clark: Staring at static on TV for hours at a time, listening to washing machines. Did you really think these stories wouldn't get out?

Ellie Arroway: I was looking for patterns in the chaos, come on!

Dr. Kent Clark: It doesn't matter anymore! We're a joke to them, they want us out.
