At the time when the full sequence of the personal genome is about to be tested for $1,000, the unspoken rules that discriminate against those with imperfect genes described in the film may be in the near future. According to the current speed and trend of biotechnology development, I am sure I can witness with my own eyes that geneticists dominate people's ancestry as in the film. I think if you can choose, most people will be happy to choose the most perfect offspring as in the film, but for all mankind, from a sad point of view, maybe this will be a precursor to self-destruction: perfection means homogeneity. This means that the simplification of the race, the ability of humans to resist unknown risks will become zero. A long-proven example is that sickle anemia as a defect is a gift from nature to humans to fight against malaria.
But the sad thing is that even if everyone knows that there is such a risk, choosing the perfect offspring will be the general trend. Nature has long carved selfishness into human nature.
