I have to say that overall this piece is pretty pleasing to the eye.
The protagonist is played by Hayden Christensen, who is quite familiar. It turned out to be Anakin in the Star Wars Prequel. The villain in the film, Samuel L. Jackson, does not need to be introduced. He has acted in many films, of course, including the prequel of Star Wars, the Windu master. Another "jumper" actor Jamie Bell, Billy from "Billy Elliot", also appeared in "King Kong". I'm not familiar with the heroine, but she is also quite pleasant. It is said that she played "The OC".
The scene is more gorgeous, and the director makes full use of this super power setting, allowing them to travel through several world famous places, such as deserts, rainforests, mountains and rocks, glaciers, ancient cities, cities... the feeling of the screen is also more comfortable.
This instantaneous superpower has produced some cool shots. After all, it is a cool super power in itself. The drag racing section is quite fun. The fighting scenes are also dazzling.
The soundtrack used The Fray's "Look After You", a nice song.
It should be said that this is still a "good-looking" film, which has gathered all kinds of entertainment factors. Sometimes we do need such a film, don't we? It's rare for everyone to go to the theater to watch a movie, but in the end they are still confused, depressed, and sad, so why bother.
The film critics of this film are not good, and the main criticism is still on the weakness of the plot. I am also wondering a few points.
For example, what role is the protagonist's mother... suddenly appeared, suddenly disappeared, suddenly appeared again-she is not a jumper! Although there are some clues, it is too weak.
Another example is the role of Griffin played by Jamie Bell. It seems to the audience that he should be a "partner" or "comrade-in-arms", but to be honest, he hurt a lot of innocent people, but the film understates it as if nothing happened. Although he did not end well in the end, this...makes the audience's emotions contradictory and distorted.
The concept of good and evil in the whole film is chaotic. The protagonist used superpowers to obtain money, enjoyment, and empathize, which is naturally very good, but shouldn't you get a Hollywood-like cleansing, reincarnation, and another redemption? Otherwise, why do you say "I'm different"?
Besides, those who chase and kill jumpers are said to have existed since the ancient Middle Ages, but there is no decent introduction or explanation in this respect, and there is a lack of logic in many places.
Even so, I still want to recommend this movie. If you look at a blockbuster, you can just look good. Mainly I learned that it is a novel adaptation, so I am a little bit more confident that the storyline will eventually be completed-and I can only hope that. Because this is really my favorite subject. It was good to see, and almost gave five stars when he was excited. The sequel is still watching.
