We need a target that we can look up to, not this star, but that star

Apollo 13 is an old movie from 1995, but since the story took place in 1970, the slightly rough picture quality may be more of that era. Many of the parties were still alive at that time, and provided valuable advice for the production of this film. Now the post-00s in China have basically gotten rid of the age of hunger when they grew up in China. Even if many people are not rich, they really don't need to envy everything in the West. Compared with the filming of this movie in 1995, when I watched this movie, China’s own probe had already landed on Mars, and China’s own astronauts had just entered China’s own space station. Done successfully. China is proud! Many people say that the moon landing plan and deep-space exploration are too far away from us, and the three mountains of housing, medical care, and pension have not been resolved yet, can we be more down-to-earth. We do not need to elaborate on the significance of aerospace technology to human technological progress, only our spirit and thoughts. Without the exploration of space, we would not necessarily invest money in solving the problems around us. We always look up to some things and discuss some topics, so that our spirit will not be locked in the daily noise all the time. Not talking about aliens and the moon, but also about entertainment stars and variety shows. Compared with the exploration of stars that require long-term investment by researchers, capital obviously prefers the immediate star-making movement. This reminds me of Buzz Aldrin’s words, they promised us to land on Mars, now let’s see, what do we get? F&c#*ook?! From another perspective, if there is no exploration of space, we might really care about the differences between each other, rather than the common ground. We will divide various camps for a little bit of difference, and forget that the similarities between us and tomatoes may be far greater than our closest alien civilization (from the God of calculation).

When I look at it again, I think it's kind of mediocre.

1994 was a shining year in film history, and this Apollo 13 was also one of the best works.

Apollo 13 quotes

  • John Aaron, EECOM Arthur: Power is everything.

Gene Kranz: What do you mean?

John Aaron, EECOM Arthur: Without it, they don't talk to us, they don't correct their trajectory, they don't turn the heat shield around. We gotta turn everything off, now. They're not gonna make it to re-entry.

Gene Kranz: What do you mean "everything"?

John Aaron, EECOM Arthur: With everything on, the LEM draws 60 amps. At that rate, in 16 hours, the batteries are dead, not 45. And so is the crew. We gotta get them down to twelve amps.

  • Jim Lovell: Okay, uh, good evening, America, and welcome aboard Apollo 13. I'm Jim Lovell, and we're broadcasting to you tonight from an altitude of almost 200,000 miles away from the... the face of the Earth, and we have a pretty good show in store for you tonight. We are going to show you just what, uh, life is like for the three of us in the vast expanse of outer space.

[a controller at Houston glances at a TV and sees a baseball game is on instead]

Jim Lovell: Okay, one of the first things we'd like to do is provide you with the appropriate background music. So, uh, hit it there, Freddo.

Fred Haise: [playing Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky"] Hello, world!

Jim Lovell: That, uh, was supposed to be the theme to "2001", in honor of our command module Odyssey, but there seems to have been a last-minute change in the program.
