Blindfold your eyes-to live

The title of the movie reveals the way to survive in a world where monsters are rampant. The movie does not have a very specific depiction of monsters. It only knows that such monsters suddenly appear, and ordinary people cannot look directly at them.

The movie uses two different timelines to explain the experience of the heroine. One is the present ongoing tense, and the other is the heroine's memories of the past. I think this kind of monster type doomsday movie is a bit similar to the zombie type. At first, in order to survive, humans will unite against the common enemy. Once temporarily safe, the good and evil aspects of human nature will begin to show, starting with monsters/ Zombie fights, and people will be added afterwards.

Normal people have to trap themselves in the house and dare not go out in order to survive, but lunatics can live upright in the sun and become the so-called "believers" of monsters. This is really ironic. There are not many bloody scenes in the movie, most of which are the moments of the heroine's recollection of life in the last days, which give people a warm impression and the ending is not bad.

More logical than "A Quiet Place"

A sister film to A Quiet Place. The former cannot speak, the latter cannot open their eyes. The rhythm of the plot can be grasped, slightly better than "A Quiet Place"

Bird Box quotes

  • Malorie: [Malorie speaking to Boy and Girl] Boy, you have your dog. Girl, you have your kitty. This is just a place. There's nothing more that we need from it. Do you understand? And no talking on the river. You must listen as closely as you can. If you hear something in the woods, you tell me. If you hear something in the water, you tell me. But you never, ever take off your blindfold. If you look, you will die. Do you understand?

  • Lucy: [Stretching her body, Lucy sees Felix admiring her] You've got *no* chance.

Malorie: [Some time later, Malorie walks in on Felix and Lucy having sex] Sorry.
