Recently, I happened to watch a few movies with similar themes, the American movie "Revolutionary Road", "Tuscan Sun", "Rice, Prayer, Love" and the British movie "North African Lover". "Revolutionary Road" tells the story of the American housewives who were struggling with the revolution, and eventually perished with the revolutionary consciousness. "Bright Sun in Tuscany" and "Rice, Pray, Love" are answers to the road of revolution. Pursue it, and you can get true happiness. However, the women in these latter two films are not short of money. The British film "The Lover of North Africa" gave a more realistic answer, the money will run out sooner or later. The prospect of revolution should be counted from the time when there is no money.
This movie takes place in the 1970s, and the women in the movie really escape the boring and undisturbed British life. I walked into Morocco, which I was not familiar with but dreamed of. The lively market, the hustle and bustle of traditional festivals, the winding alleys, the carpets that can roll all over the floor, the courtyard life that echoes, coupled with the romantic love encountered by chance, the golden sunshine, the burst of colors and the entrance Fragrant food. All of this can make me soaked in endless British gray at this moment. I can get more ultraviolet rays when I look at the screen than when I look out the window, and I don’t know how many British people are moved, longed and dreamed that life can undergo revolutionary changes.
If I hadn't been to Morocco, I'd probably have the same impulse as the heroine in the movie to roll up the blanket and give up everything to pursue a free life. Morocco is a really nice tourist destination. As long as you're not short of money, you'll be fine. Moroccans are very considerate and dignified to serve you, making you think you are the master of the world on a dream holiday. The price, of course, is endless slaughter. When you have learned the Moroccan way of life, don't be the big head of the tourism industry, and understand how the locals can enjoy a more affordable life, it's time for you, a foreigner, to get out. The heroine in the movie stayed in Morocco for a year. She ran out of money, and her husband stopped sending money actively, indicating that she should get out, but she didn't. As a result, she saw a side that Morocco did not welcome her.
Realizing that the wanderlust of passers-by will not be the destination for those who are looking for a place to stay, a society that thinks it can give you freedom, in fact, does not have the freedom you want, and the road to revolution will come to an end. At this point, there are two choices, either say goodbye to the romantic romance like the heroine in this film and go home honestly; or like the heroine of Revolutionary Road, say goodbye to life directly . And the rich woman finds her true self and takes care of the handsome guy to live happily for the rest of her life. It is just a fairy tale for those who eat too much.
Writing here, looking back out the window, the sun actually came out. Looking further afield, dark clouds were racing towards the roof of our house. Open the window, let in the sunshine, and close the window when the rain comes. There's not that much sunshine, and there's no chance of a storm. To make a revolution in life, the British answer is tepid: there is nothing to do.
