God's in his heaven, all's right with the world

I don't know why, but after watching this season, this sentence came to mind. Let's use it as a title first.

From the points I have paid attention to, I personally think that the level of this season is close to that of the first season and surpasses that of the second season. It's probably a return to my favorite crime movies.

First of all, I would like to say that I like this series not only because of the twists and turns of the plot, the lively but in place rhythm, and the vivid but not cumbersome details, but also because it enhances the struggle and evolution of the little people in the torrent of crime. This is probably the reason why, in my mind, this series is superior to a series of "xxx big case records" that were broadcast on major domestic TV stations in the 1990s.

From this point of view, the first season is the best. The plot revolves around Martin Freeman from a cowardly insurer to killing his wife, releasing the evil and power in human nature from beginning to end, and gradually becoming a Elite level. In terms of the plot of the second season, there are some godfather feelings, but unfortunately the image of Tu and his wife and the UFO's forcible interruption of the plot is really a drama, so these two points are always brooding. And the third season, which is the season that impressed me the most, was a few thoughts. (I am not particularly good at remembering names, so I mainly use titles that I can understand as much as possible)

1. Good and evil and cause and effect

The most notable thing in crime movies should be good and evil, but this balance is almost always found in this film, and almost everyone has their own dark side. Including the female police officer in charge, is also to achieve the purpose of finding out the truth, not acting in accordance with the rules, which must be labeled as knowing the law and breaking the law. VM should be considered the most evil existence, but at least this buddy is a genius, playing with the entire financial system and the criminal system. He is only acting according to his understanding of the law of the jungle, and has not violated the law. These two extremes are placed here, and the other characters who are not dog-legged and passers-by have their own sins and karma more or less.

And at the end there is an open ending. Those with a strong sense of justice will probably insist that good and evil will be rewarded in the end. However, VM's words may also come true. After all, the assets of 200 million can reach the sky. In addition, he has continued to wander in the United States for five years. There must be helpers like widows. Not giving a result is just not finalized. You can find any remedy, depending on what kind of world you are willing to believe.

The disadvantages of the system

When I saw the fourth episode, I felt very uplifted, because the police looked super cool. I didn't expect that in a legal society, everyone acted according to the rules, lacking the halo of the protagonist, the top crime can be logical, and the target of the bad guy's trap is obvious. target, how could it be missed? The so-called open guns are easy to hide and dark arrows are difficult to guard against. But there is no better way than this. Also very helpless.

3. Divine Punishment

After trying to disrupt the plot with UFOs in season two, this season has introduced some paranormal phenomena. For example, an old man who resembles the spokesperson of God appears in the tavern and the bowling alley. The first time was just a little joke, but it foreshadowed the retribution of the stepfather. The second time was to directly breastfeed the female prisoner and the deaf-mute buddy, and took away Yuri No. 1, the minion. It seems to be in conflict with what I said about good and evil, but this reminds me of the gust of wind in No Country for Old Men and the scene where the killer is hit by a car before he gets away with it. Maybe the normal rhythm is that the female prisoner and the deaf-mute buddies walked out of the forest and escaped, while Yuri lost his way and froze to death in the forest. Pack it as God's punishment.

In any case, compared to the excessive interference of the unknown factors in the second season, this time it finally returned to what God does not do, and what people do. This time, there is intrigue, there is the law of the jungle, there is love that transcends common sense, and there is hatred that arises because of it. Wonderful.

  • Ray Stussy: Hey! Dickhead!

    Maurice LeFay: Huh?

Ray Stussy: I gotta place, turns out a place that needs some robbing. A little robbing, not wholesale burglary, just a specific... Just looking for a certain item. And if you do it... well let's just say... your little problem goes up in smoke.

Maurice LeFay: What are we talking about?

    Ray Stussy: A stamp.

Maurice LeFay: A stamp?... Like a... postage stamp?

    Ray Stussy: Yeah.

Maurice LeFay: Cool... Cool... So I mean, I know I'm the moron but...

Ray Stussy: It's not that kind of stamp numb nuts... It's a vintage stamp, it's got you know... sentimental value for me... It's my stamp.

    Maurice LeFay: Your stamp.

Ray Stussy: But it's, you know, at someone else's house temporarily.

Maurice LeFay: Cool, cool... So why not just ask for it back?

Ray Stussy: Well it's, you know, complicated... Just get the damn stamp.

  • Maurice LeFay: You ever think about how they never put the morgue on the top floor of a hospital?... I notice stuff like that... It's always in the basement. It's like its own elevator.

Therapist: And... how does that make you feel?

Maurice LeFay: Huh? No... You asked me how I define the person called me... And I'm saying, I'm always having thoughts of... What do ya?... Insightful. For example, where does the President of United States buy his clothes? Do they shut down like a whole JC Penney? Just so he can try on a suit.

Therapist: There's a tailor, he comes to the White House.

Maurice LeFay: Now see, I didn't know that.

Therapist: Let's focus... So when you say your parole officer was mean to you before, how did that make you feel?

Maurice LeFay: You know, just not good, you know... I mean here I am, I'm trying, you know. Not hurting anybody, anymore. So...

    [coughs]

    Therapist: Are you getting high?

    Maurice LeFay: [coughing] No...

[the paper with address flows off the car]

    Maurice LeFay: Oh shit.
