I was told it was an all black movie when I bought the disc. The black word order accent made me a little crazy, and I felt a little bored at first, and it almost disappeared. To be honest, "meet the Browns" is a good movie, light and a little heavy. Just as you're about to mourn over the difficult plight of the Brendas, the Browns' hilarious speech performance quietly defuses them.
The film really reflects the growth of black people, especially in the ghetto. Lack of education, lack of source of livelihood, lack of job opportunities, and ultimately only drug trafficking, drug theft, and so on. Michael's growth process with basketball is very consistent with the growth process of many players in the NBA in reality.
However, it is really not easy to persist until the moment of success. Precarious life will consume your will, polish your ideals, and consume your youth. With Brenda's strength and perseverance, Michael's success will come later. Otherwise, Michael might be like his childhood friend, in a zombie gang fight.
Towards the end, I suddenly found that Michael's Bole, who had always been familiar, was the Lakers' Rick Fox, who was once known as the most handsome player in the NBA. It also adds to the realism of Michael growing up.
