I wanted to watch "The Promise" again. To tell the truth, I have seen this film twice: once I had a sneak peek, and then I went to the Sanlian forum to vent it; the other time I went to a friend's appointment, and I slept soundly for an hour. But I have great respect for Director Chen. "Farewell My Concubine" is an insurmountable monument in the history of Chinese films, so I must take time to watch it again to reach a final conclusion.
However, I actually lost interest completely, the bright sets and superb acting did not make me engrossed at all. I have absolutely no idea what kind of concept the director wants to convey to the audience, and I can't even feel the flow of emotions and the penetration of emotions between shots.
From this point of view, this work is far less than "If * Love", although the latter is only an entertainment dessert.
When the film was screened and Manshen made a bet with the general again, I finally made up my mind to forget about the film and its director.
There are so many movies to choose from in Internet cafes. For some reason, maybe it's classified as a comedy, I clicked the Korean movie "Welcome to Dongmo Village" hesitantly.
It is said that Korean movies are sinking into violent pornography and perversion, I guess that's true. In addition, some films similar to idol dramas have landed one after another, which makes people have to wonder whether the movie myth of the other country is just a bubble. But today I finally saw "Welcome to Dongmo Village". It’s been a long time since I felt tears in my eyes when watching a movie. This late-night 130-minute encounter was the best New Year’s gift the movie gave me.
If you want to see some other films, leave the sighs and praises for next year. I sincerely recommend this masterpiece to all brothers and sisters. I hope you, like your younger brother, will experience a long-lost touch in the new year.
