The most classic war comedy is the French "Escape from a Tiger's Mouth", other than that, I'm not very interested in other similar films. When I downloaded a movie for my girlfriend a few days ago, I stumbled upon this famous movie in South Korea, and one of the leading actors, Zheng Jae-young, also had a wonderful performance in "Silmi Island".
At the beginning of the film, a "silly girl" is "giggling", that smile is really stupid, but it has the original innocence of human beings. The brilliance of the scene makes me feel like this is not the tone of a typical war movie.
South Korea seems to be particularly keen on making Korean War films in recent years, and they have all achieved good box office results. But South Korea always looks at the problem from its own historical perspective, just like the North Korean military officer played by Zheng Zaiyong replied to Zeki: "It is true that we invaded the South", and Zeki can only be confused for himself" Justification": "I came to the South just to do what was ordered." Of course, when watching a film, we all do not feel that we have added a certain point of view of our own, causing the possibility of "misreading", which is also a "common problem" for ordinary people.
Putting aside the historical factors, simply talking about the movie.
Two South Korean soldiers, three North Korean officers, and one American were all "inadvertently" and "deliberately" gathered in a small mountain village like a paradise. This can easily lead to dramatic conflicts, different beliefs, and in times of war, how can things not happen? Except for the grenade thrown by the silly girl, there is almost no bloodshed and sacrifice in the title, and it has a brisk comedy style. "You son of a bitch, son of a bitch", "Fuck you, fuck you", when the two sides were in a tense confrontation, the children were unscrupulously "babbling", which made people laugh. However, a small detail made me a little unhappy: it was the South Korean officer Piao Hyun-chul, not Li Xiuhua, who pressed the grenade with his body. A little bit of contempt for North Korea (for example, at the end of the film, Li Xiuhua said that he couldn't understand these new weapons and let Biao Lai be the commander), which reminded me of the slander of mainland police in early Hong Kong films. Fortunately, I laugh more often: "Miss Xi" = SMITH, "Xiaosheng's name is Dazhu"; silly girl's socks; Wen Shangxiang's sloppy mouth; veteran Zhang Rongxi and the unnamed auntie "get in love with each other" "Wait, it's all classic funny elements.
A unique feeling of watching this film is the exaggeration of "cartoon style". Including those funny elements, Koreans seem to be inclined to learn from their close neighbors, Japan, not only invited Hisaishi to sound the music, but also deliberately used "slow motion" at the critical moment of the plot to reflect the psychological state of the characters: Granary It was bombed, and there was a sky full of popcorn, which was a very beautiful scene; when killing the wild boar, the handover of the characters was also done in slow motion. When watching the "splendid fireworks" in the sky, a different kind of tragic beauty is given for a moment. The romantic technique and strong scene contrast deeply stimulate the audience's vision and tear glands.
After watching this film, I want to pay tribute to Korean movies. There is no shortage of rich resources in China, but only bad films like "Wuji" can be made, and there is a feeling of "hate iron is not steel".
